GDS I NEED YOUR HELP
I usually prep for Halloween much sooner than this, but whatev. I know a good few of y'all are cosplayers and I wanted some advice for how to replicate the rebreather filters on Jon's mask seen below

I've got the mask itself already, it's just a matter of a minor alteration here and there and HOW DO I MAKE THOSE THINGS JESUS

I mean, I know probably five different ways to custom-hand-make things like that out of air-drying clays and other substances, but why go that far when there are much easier ways to do it? If you can find some kind of object that has a similar appearance - and the correct size - and if it's metal in the first place, that's less painting work to be done.
I may be an elitist but I'm also lazy. :D I like doing things in as few steps as possible and only going the full-on make-it-from-scratch route if I'm completely dissatisfied with any other method.

Hmmmmmmm
If I walked into goodwill and asked for two showerheads I wonder what they would do.

after that it's just a matter of transplanting

hand you the two showerheads and go back to organizing

If things don't work out, I just recently made my costume mask with some light-weight modeling compound called "Delight". It's really easy to work with and weighs hardly anything.

Really? :O Do they sell that in hobby stores or did you have to order it?

But a lot of good ideas are floating around here - shower heads, soda cans, cans within cans, I like all of them. It's probably going to come down to just looking at things and comparing the sizes to your face to see which one is the right size and will do the job the best.

I bought it at the local Michael's craft store, it says you can paint it, but I don't know how well that works, since I only needed white, and just bought the uncolored type. It worked well for me and holds its shape pretty well. It air dries in a couple days, no baking required.

...oooh is that a noose around his neck a la Batman: TAS season 4 redesign? man I think that was my favorite version of scarecrow and yes i am incredibly biased due to jeffrey coooooooombs
no subject
Well he's had a noose integrated into his costume since before Jason Todd was alive in the comics, so it's probably a callback to them rather than--that Scarecrow
oh god I've got to be honest I deplore the Combs version

Just chop off some of the length, if you have to, and paint those suckers.

Thank you so much!
