KARA is a very tactile person!! She loves hugs and shoulder bumps and doing things like sitting close enough to a person so she can rest her head on their shoulder. She's very, very hesitant about initiating contact with most people, though, because she has accidentally broken bones before and while she knows she has better control now, there's always that worry lingering in the back of her head. But, once she knows someone is comfortable with her touching them, she will go for it.

Oddly enough, she's more comfortable with casually touching guys than she is girls. Mostly because her mother was very much not physically affectionate and she didn't hug her sister much when she was around. Her father and Kal, on the other hand, she could hug and cuddle with, so it's a weird sort of thing in her head where she's better with things outside of your basic goodbye hug with her guy friends than she is her girl friends.

JIM loves loves loves to touch people. Even if he knows other people aren't the ost comfortable with it, he has this need to touch everyone in some way. If they're crew or acquaintances, it's usually things like a manly shoulder clap. With girls who are friends and Bones, he'll sometimes do the arm over the shoulder thing and maaaybe risk a hug. With any kind of friend, he usually sits about an inch or two closer than most people would, with Spock being the only exception to that rule. He's also very fond of sex. It's the best kind of touching and he actually prefers things like friends with benefits situations as opposed to one-night stands. There are people he will absolutely not have sex with, though, because he feels like there's more intimate ways of touching someone than that. Which is a little odd, but Jim is screwed up in the head.

People he doesn't like he's very likely to get into physical fights with. Because while he can school people with his words up and down and sideways, physical contact means something more. A punch to the face carries more meaning, in his head, than him giving them a tongue lashing which he is very good at. Plus, yelling at someone reminds him of his step-father who was more likely to yell at Jim than anything else.

GWEN actually really likes touching people and feeling close to them. But she has tons and tons of trust issues, so she shies away from most forms of physical affection. There's a few people who are allowed to touch her (Peter, Jess, Johnny & Aunt May) and each of them have certain ways she's cool with her touching them. Ult!Peter was allowed to do things like hug her whenever or cuddle, Johnny gets to do things like randomly sling an arm around her shoulder, Jess is allowed to use her as a pillow... Actually, in the City, Johnny and Jess have the most touching privileges because they've probably all fallen asleep on each other at least once. But, yes, she basically has to count someone as a really good friend before she's okay with them initiating contact. She herself will sometimes do things like hug someone in a really bad situation, but those are rare occurrences and... usually only happen in bad situations.

She's actually more comfortable with physical violence than she is physical affection, which is odd because she's not much of a fighter. She's punched people and pulled knives on them and so on and so forth and it's... a little bit easier? For her to understand violence, I think. Because it can really only mean one thing and it's "I don't like you and I'm angry at you for some reason." Since she's an angry teen, that's easiest for her to understand. In my headcanon, part of the reason she got expelled from her first high school was because she got into a few fights.
