Calvin: he's a bit like a younger version of Rua, in his energy levels and his adventure/attention-seeking (though much better vocabulary), and it's a surprise to her he's been here this long and suffered so many family-style losses with that still (superficially) intact. It's on the edge of her awareness, the fact that he's not growing up or getting older, but she's not going to really realize it until she stops focusing quite so much on her own problems / actually runs into him again, face-to-face.

Major: Fucking Nazi, why are you still here?

Jack: He is, whether he likes it or not, one of the actual "authority" figures in the City, though she knows he'd much, much rather be in his own. Unlike other characters who fall willingly into the role the City's given them, he has an undercurrent of wanting out.

She appreciates that, despite going to him and the Police about it, it hasn't leaked who was responsible for attacking her. If there's ever anything she can do to help him out (knowing full well how unlikely that is), she'd offer in an instant.

CANDY ON JACK: It's not accurate to say she likes him or trusts him, but he was very, very quick on the uptake. He catches on to the things that need to be done and the questions that usually need to be asked -- he usually overshoots/overestimates how much she knows (but whether that's through misunderstanding her level of involvement or just being hopeful/thorough, it's harder to tell; at least she can see the usefulness of the information he wants, unlike some others), but he finds the target eventually.

She doesn't for a moment believe he's actually sincere about that whole "will protect you if you help us take down Vulcanus" promise.
