I can make you happy, Renee.

[ There's a slight sharpness to his voice, though it doesn't raise louder. His eye narrows a little while his bad eye stares forward, wide and unseeing. ]

You don't know that I can't. You won't even give me the chance.

[ Very reasonable. ]

[indentcision]

None of the rest matters. We can take it slow. I don't mind if you see other people, as long as you love me. I'm not asking you for much. I wouldn't, I know--

[ It's unfortunately all worked out in his head already. He's had a lot of time to fine-tune the details, even if Renee is currently still in the dark about this. At least... halfway. ]

You probably don't want to be seen with me. Is that it?

[ Somehow the lesbian thing still doesn't seem relevant to him. ]

[indentcision]

[ Harvey's nose wrinkles, and he has to take a deep breath to keep his temper down -- don't get mad -- as he takes a step backward. He pats her shoulders before he pulls his arms away and crosses them over his chest. Finally he manages, after hissing out his breath slowly: ]

You don't have to decide anything now.

[indentcision]

[ He takes her hand in his for just a moment, wanting to kiss it, but that's something he would have to flip for. He just holds it for a minute or so before he lets it go again, instead holding his hand out expectantly for his coin back. After another moment passes, he adds: ]

Don't abandon me.

[indentcision]

Good.

[ And of course he will, knowing Harvey, but he doesn't think that way. To him, that's as good as security; they can trust each other to understand and to care, even if they can't always fight on the same side. He understands that. He's let her arrest him in the past. It isn't about sides.

Not really.

He takes the coin from her and puts it in his pocket, then reaches over to stroke her cheek before he turns to leave. ]
