[ The dog seems to think what Oz is doing is pretty obvious as it turns its head to look up at Elliot, tail starting to thump again at the presence of another person. While Oz might have been with it for some time now and gotten to a point of trying to have an actual conversation with it, it doesn't mean the dog isn't actually fond of the opportunity to be in the vinicity of human contact.

Oz blinks, his babbling trailing off into silence with that voice being way too familiar to ignore and further too much of a wishful source of company, particularly in a place so foreign as this. Eyes wide, he looks from the dog towards the voice's direction of origin, landing sight of Elliot (—which isn't possible, because isn't—hasn't—?) almost instantly. Everything internally is an absolute mess of confusion and uncertainty, giving him just one more reason now to find an odd situation odder, but it only flickers over his expression for a second before he forces it away to allow the preferred beam of smile at seeing the other here to shine through. While his smile may not be the entire truth of himself (and obvious to someone like Elliot, at that), there's nothing particularly untruthful about it, either. He's happy to see Elliot (...really happy, actually, the realization sinking in the longer the other is still in his line of view). He's so happy he can't even be bothered to puff his cheeks up at the nickname, it only adding validty to the chances this isn't a bad joke being played.

Elliot!!

[ He doesn't want to get is hopes up too far, he could be hallucinating, but he braces himself for the disappointment as best he can and swallows it, pointing to the dog as if there might be some confusion as to whom (or what, take your pick) Oz is referring to in his following answer. ]

—This guy needed a friend! He was all by himself so I thought I could help him out a little bit. [ Whch can only mean that Oz needed someone to talk to so badly he'd taken advantage of a poor unsuspecting animal being held hostage by a leash. Nowhere to run...!! ]
