[Hannibal has been safe, dodging Eddie's falsehood detection -- it's limited to direct statements, so rhetoricals and hypotheticals dodge the bullet. If it's like wandering though a labyrinth, then Hannibal has yet to hit the minotaur. Nothing pinged Edward on the power plane.

But that handshake, that reaction, it bordered on the ambiguous. It titillated. Eddie almost got the sense that Hannibal was taunting him, daring him into some definitive action, he thought perhaps he smelled a little game afoot.

And that made him oh so curious.

I'm not about to judge, Doctor Lecter. [He kept a measured eye contact, his voice quiet and unassuming. If anything, it carried an earnest pitch, something fairly unfamiliar coming from Eddie's mouth.] I'm not about to do anything about it, I'm not about to inform anyone if this possibly entirely coincidental happening. Just because some people in this City will associate your name with a serial killer cannibal they might have known in another universe, well -- just a head's up, is all. What's in a name, anyway?

[Coming from a man who invests quite a lot into his own name.]

I'm more of the persuasion that one should be free to explore his own instinctive inclinations. Within reason, of course.

[Edward Nygma AKA the Riddler: obsessive-compulsive narcissist with anti-social tendencies closer to the sociopathic than that of the psychopathic.]

I govern, I don't police. If someone of murderous repute were to indulge his fancy, it isn't my problem unless he makes it my problem.
