The show is an all new spin on the classic superhero. James Howlett is a paranormal photographer visiting Japan. While on a hunt for pictures of real demons he gets what he asks for and is captured by them. The demons known as the Aku have been building up their army consisting of half human and half Aku ninja warriors ready to take over and enslave humanity. James' memory was wiped and the Aku infused his soul with the demon soul of the wolverine where his body mutated and created mythical indestructible demon claws. A local priestess in training named Sakura Hikimori discovers an unconscious James and helps him escape before the Aku could brainwash him into their servant. Sakura names the amnesia stricken man Logan after her uncle. She nurses Logan back to health but finds that he's healing on his own at a rapid pace. Her elders claim that Logan has a demonic aura around him. Having no place to go, Logan stays with Sakura and practices the art of the katana has a hobby. One night the Aku attack Logan and Sakura, this triggers the Wolverine spirit inside him and his claws extract. Logan turns into the sadistic Wolverine and obliterates the Aku forces. Now Logan must use his demon Wolverine powers to defeat the Aku.
