Please read this if you are participating in the Holiday Gift Exchange


As of now, the Holiday Gift Exchange submission post is closed.

We have 30 participants, which is four more than last time. Awesome!

Warning: this entry is overwhelmed by the words 'giftee' and 'gifter'. I couldn't figure out what other words to use. Bear with it?

How things will go from now on...

In the following days (and it will really be days because I'm busy) I will randomly pick all the names out of a bag and thus will be decided who is your giftee.

I will send everyone participating an email telling them:
1) Who is their giftee
2) What they are requesting as a gift
3) Whether or not their giftee is comfortable with receiving an NC-17 gift
ie All the information that was given to me about this~

Afterward...

How the gifters will contact their giftee if they wish to

When all the emails will be sent, I will set up a post that will be tagged "winter gift exchange" (like all the posts so far, eh) and every single participant will have to answer with their personal journal. If a gifter wants to talk to their giftee, they will be able to answer anonymously to the comment they will have made. So the gifters stay... well... secret.
[Example: I am Sophie. Let's say I am Noodles' gifter. If I need to tell something to Noodles, I will find the comment titled "Noodles" and posted with Noodles' personal journal and answer anonymously to it.]

This is really important because some people specified "Anything with that one specific character" as a general theme, leaving the choice of the gift to a sole fandom which isn't very general. Gifters, if you do not know the fandom requested well enough to do anything about it, please contact your giftee through this post to ask them for something even more generic.

Also, whenever you answer anonymously, if you have a paid account, track your comment to be able to know if you get an answer.

And be careful about answering anonymously, too.


How the giftees will contact their gifters if they wish to

If you wish to contact your gifter, you will have to write me an email that I will redirect. My email will be made available in the next post I will make.


You have until January 6th to write/draw/create/fabricate your gift. A bit before January 6th, I will post an entry that will basically say "EXCHANGE TIME" and every single participant will have to answer that entry with their personal journal. Their gifter will answer with their own journal, throwing off the 'secret' part, and write a little something to their giftee, and give the link to download/see/read whatever the gift is.


All that information will be repeated when it has to be~

By now, everyone participating in the Holiday Gift Exchange should have received an email from me informing them about who is their giftee and other informations.

If you didn't receive this email, answer to this entry or write me an email ASAP (sophie.black@gmail.com).

Now, this is the post that will be used to contact your giftee if you need to. That might happen quite a lot because if you don't know anything about the fandom(s) requested by your giftee, you will need to ask them about something else they wish to receive -- and we had a lot of "anything within that one fandom" as a general theme this round. So, gifters, don't hesitate to ask for something more general from your giftees if needed!

Everyone participating in the Gift Exchange must leave a comment with their personal journal to this entry, and your gifter will be able to answer anonymously to your comment if they need to.

Please, gifters, remember to answer anonymously.

If you wish to contact your gifter, you will have to write me an email that I will redirect.

Reminder: the gifts are due January 6th.

AND SINCE YOU WILL HAVE HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT POST. So far, during all three gifts exchanges, the gifter/giftee pairs have been chosen with the art of randomness and names written on little pieces of paper.

The poll is back -- do you think that for the next one, I should ask for a list of fandoms and matchmake the pairs so all the gifters will know at least one of their giftee's fandoms?

The downside of that strategy is that handpairing can lead to intense circlejerking because you'll most likely end up with the people you RP with the most -- your canonmates. That and the fact that I would still like to participate so I'd basically choose my gifter. Awkward.

Been listening to my inFAMOUS soundtrack today and got one of the songs stuck in my head all day.

So what should I do? Infect you all with the song too. DUH. That and I actually have an excuse to show you this old kickass trailer, if that's cool with you guys.

If anyone's actually into the song (which is pretty long uncut), it's called Malabar Front by If These Trees Could Talk. Which is a cool name for a cool band that has nothing to do with trees.
