FUCK YES, THIS MEME.

Katurian really, really admires Edward, and craves approval from him in a way that may not quite be a crush, but certainly has similar sentiments. Edward's cynicism makes him feel more at ease with his own darker opinions. He's spent most of his life feeling like the oddball; he thinks Edward can actually understand him.

--Also, he enjoys feeling more like the "misunderstood genius" than the "man desperately in need of therapy." Sob. Thank you for the ego boosters, Eddie.

Lorna falls into his AWESOME LEGIT SUPERHERO CATEGORY which he genuinely loves, despite his occasional, cynical, "there are no heroes" spiels. He both envies and admires her and is pleased she gives him the time of day.

Katurian is pleasantly surprised by how intelligent he is, yet perpetually worried about jaded he is, especially considering his age. Even with his own cynicism, he'd rather see optimistic kids with not too many troubles. :(

OH GOD, MAN-EATING PSYCHO CHILD. Katurian feels bad for her because he's pretty sure she can't help it (and because Death said she's a nice girl, and he can't not trust Death :<), but he is so wigged out by her and worries for the state of his entrails.

KATURIAN DOESN'T KNOW HOW HE FEELS ABOUT JIN. He was much more sympathetic to him before the ass-kicking, and now carries a similar stance towards Jin as Takaya: misunderstood, pitiable, but beyond help. He's a little frightened of him, too, because he's the only one that's taken advantage of his hand trauma and could potentially do it again.

That being said, he doesn't outright hate Jin. He would not lock him up in a cellar, but he would throw a punch for self-defense.

She sort of creeps him out in the way that only a child perfectly saying "fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva" could creep a person out. :'] He tries to place himself as the adult in the conversation and then she usurps him with better knowledge and/or health advice. It's a weird disconnect that he's gradually getting used to, but he acknowledges that she has his best interests in mind.

Katurian likes having the occasional optimistic friend, since they tend to treat him surprisingly nicely and also bring the occasional breath of fresh air. He's privately worried she thinks he's a freak, though, or that she could start thinking of him as a freak because of the things he likes/says. :( Paranoia.

HELLO.

Katurian was originally really... annoyed with Yusuke, but put up with him because he's a push-over. All the while, though, I'm sure he had an inner monologue like "OH MY GOD, HE WOULDN'T KNOW REAL ART IF IT BIT HIM IN THE FACE AND HE MADE FUN OF MY NAME AAARRARRARR." He was... kind of a hermit on father's day, though, and reached out to Yusuke on a whim as a way to distract himself from his own troubles. He genuinely respects him now, and appreciates the connection. :>

L-LIKELY.

He isn't actually sure what to think of Duke. He admires his confidence, but Duke's ability to shift/control the conversation swallows him up easily and makes him into malleable, off-guard putty. He isn't used to people being that frank with him.

HE REALLY LIKES HER. He was in a viciously awful mood the last time they talked, but he finds it difficult to disagree with anything she says because it sounds so intuitively appealing, re: fiction, the universe. He wants to subscribe to her philosophical fiction newsletter.

It's kind of the inverse to Takaya's relationship with Katurian - he was once a curiosity, but now he genuinely knows him. In contrast, though, the more Katurian knows Takaya, the weaker he feels. :[ Although he's always been pretty sure Takaya could beat him up, he once thought that he might be on an equal playing field emotionally and that if he said the right things, he could exert control. Not... anymore. All of Takaya's speeches dig into him far more than he shows, and he's occasionally tempted to throw the communicator down and go "YOU'RE RIGHT, LIFE IS AWFUL AND MEANINGLESS AND EVERYONE IS BETTER DEAD, BAAAAAAAAAW. ;;"

He still has too much pride for this, though, because this.

It probably goes without saying that Desire terrifies the shit out of him more than anyone else in the City. He thinks about it whenever he wants something ("...hmm, I'm craving a sandwich OH GOD OH GOD") and he regularly has horrible nightmares. He's also... really enthralled by it, and views it like a walking god worthy of respect rather than hatred. He wants to know about it.

--That being said, if he ever ran into it in person, he'd make like a fainting goat and drop.
