May is both confused and excited that there is another female spider-person who isn't a Spider-Woman and, given the situation, she's willing to ignore the confusion part. She's looking forward to getting to know her better and figuring out how to handle having other spider-people around in general.

Also, after rereading when they first meet in Spider-Girl, Peter had talked about Anya at least once in the past and said good things, so May will be remembering and reporting that. Possibly at the sleepover.
