LAIH NEEDS TO ENTERTAIN HERSELF THIS WEEKEND

And how better than with art? My computer's gone for repairs, which means that I'm going to be gone, depending on how long they take to fix it.

So I'm going to play with art styles and sketch shit out! Not going to be big stuff, and all on *shock* actual paper with *gasp* actual media, so... anyone want a sketch?

NOTE: I will not be able to see any replies after around 5:30 or so, because that is when I am off of work and back to the land of the internet-free.

I should go and request something ridiculous to make you practice your anatomy, shouldn't I?

pff oh man THOSE THINGS. how many drawings of muscles did you have to do?

Ugh. We focused on the skeleton.

Over. And over. And over. And over..... @___@

I just went through my portfolio and dumped like half of my drawings because they were all gestural or skeletons and I looked at them and went 'why do i need to keep these wtf'. AND OF COURSE MY TEACHER MADE US BUY THE FUCKING LARGEST SIZE NEWSPRINT POSSIBLE I SWEAR WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH IT ALL IT'S NEWSPRINT.

*coff* Er, yes. So! What would you like me to draw again?

with my teacher it was like SKELETONS. NOW GO AND DRAW 8 TORSOS SKINNED WITH ALL THE MUSCLES LABELED WITH THEIR PROPER NAMES WHICH YOU MUST MEMORIZE AND THEN WE WILL SPEND THREE HOURS TWICE A WEEK ALL SEMESTER DOING 5 MINUTE DRAWINGS. honestly I think the longest pose i had in that class was 20 minutes. It was just five minutes after five minutes after five minutes so I look through all of my pads and pads of newsprint and there's just like scribble after scribble-

*coughs*

BATMAN? Terry version or Bruce version I guess. Alternately Franziska bullying Bruno.

/selfish requests always

God are you kidding?! We had models that would pose for almost 5 hours. We skipped over the muscles bit, really. If only we had more than two models the entire semester. They were super nice girls, but damn if you didn't get tired of drawing the same pair of boobs all the time...

Whatever, I always have selfish requests and I tend to draw my girls so y'know IT'S ALL GOOD.

I can't tell you how much I wish I were kidding. But no. All about the gestures, that's my teacher. And personally I didn't think he was all that good and then he'd routinely give these LONG INTIMIDATING SPEECHES that more or less amounted to we'd all fail and die alone.

Or okay that's a slight exaggeration perhaps but really it's not much of one.

Class was three hours, so the longest pose you could get was about two and a half, and I did get some longer poses with my other teacher, for head drawing. But omg figure drawing.

I hated that professor. So much. It was especially great because I was (and am) trying to learn to take my time and you know. put down one line instead of 50. It's hard to do that when you do 20 one minute poses at the beginning of every class and then move on to (and stay at) 5 and 10 minutes. And I'd try things like pulling a pen out and doing things that way because that way you can't do all your fiddly stuff because IT DOESN'T GO AWAY so i was trying to teach myself something and he'd come by and go 'YOU NEED TO WORK ON YOUR MAPPING FORGET THE PEN' ('mapping' he called it) which was great because last time i asked him he told me i did too much mapping.

Thanks. Thanks for making up your mind.

... sorry, this is a sore subject.
