BIRDS OF PREY

So people have dropped and characters been ported out, etc. here is the roster as I know ittttt (if any of you want off just let me know):
  • Mary Marvel
  • Selina
  • Rachel
  • Cass
  • Dr. Mid-Nite
  • Misfit (KIND OF. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN.)
People I've been trying forever to get onto the team but not quite getting there because Oracle isn't... totally aware of them: Felicia and Quatre. Actually I think she could maybe move on Quatre, but Felicia is still way off her radar. ANYWAY if you've lost interest, Ty, I don't blame you.

OKAY SO if you'd like Oracle to investigate your character and invite them to join the team just say so! She is looking for:
  • people who have multiple skills (with an emphasis on combat, stealth, and infiltration)
  • people who can work alone or in teams
  • or, people with specialist skills (though they may get called upon less frequently depending on what those skills are)
Please don't pay too much attention to the fact that everybody's a comicbook character right now; originally we had a more diverse line-up and Maggie Mui from Read or Die was Babs' favorite agent before her player dropped (WELCOME BACK BTW).

People she already plans to ask (no obligation to say yes, it's just IC for Oracle to ask them): X-23, Zatanna, Ted.

Okay, in canon, Babs has a team of about 3-4 constants with others that she calls in as needed and they do missions. In the City, Babs has a team of ludicrously many and they... investigate Norman's Avengers because they're the shadiest game in town BUT THAT COULD CHANGE. You should ALSO comment here if you would like the Birds to investigate your doings. I hate stepping on other plots so it would be nice to know what I should or shouldn't get into.

Here's some copypasta for you if you want your character to become a Bird:

I am still sad that Maggie didn't get to do more with the Birds, as that was something I really enjoyed playing out. I'm sure if I reapp her later and she gets back in, she will ask to rejoin.

But in the meantime, look: a spy with super strength and speed! :D

NAME: Jaime Sommers
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Basic federal secret agent training (but BASIC--she got tossed in the deep end and learned to swim), basic police training (she went through the police academy as part of a mission), teaching, pro tennis, Casino-style dealing, rambling preachily on any number of subjects
POWERS: Super strength, jumping up to 3 stories, running up to 65 mph, and can hear up to a half a mile away and into some sub- and supersonic frequencies.
EXPERIENCE: She's been working as a part-time field agent for the U.S. Office of Scientific Intelligence for 3 years in her home world. She often does solo missions but also works with partners. She focuses on protection, victim rescue, and stealing back stolen items. She was not properly "schooled" as an agent as circumstance (her accident and bionic operation) brought her in rather than desire and longterm training.
HOW WELL KNOWN ARE YOU: She's still fairly new here; not many know about her or her abilities yet, but I am working on getting her better integrated into the city after I get back from my vacation next week. Her last post was her freaking out after being Sparked by Starscream's machine which probably won't leave a first good impression, but ah well.
HOW MUCH & WHAT CAN ORACLE DISCOVER ABOUT YOU: Pretty much anything. Despite her training, Jaime is horrible at keeping secrets, and she doesn't fully understand yet that private filters can be hacked, given her computer knowledge comes from 1978, and she's giving contemporary technology more benefit of the doubt than she should.

If you are interested in recruiting her, FYI I'm going on hiatus this afternoon and will be back Sunday.

Cool! That sounds fine with me.

I'm finishing up her "Spark" thread and she ended up running full speed to the Xavier Institute for a checkup so maybe Oracle's cameras caught her on tape.
