The awesome young aunt whose sanity is always questioned? I mean, she's so nice and polite, how did she ever end up with him?

But she always brings over the most awesome board games to family reunions, so. The family tries not to judge too hard.

You can be nice and polite too, you know. When the mood strikes you.

[Sets up Apples to Apples.]

Less frequently than you, dear.

[Makes horrible political jokes with all of his red cards.]

You're always nice to me, baby.

[Purposely doesn't ever pick the cards she suspects are his.]

It's difficult to imagine being mean to you. I don't think I'd like it very much.

[Every so often tosses in a card about kittens or other small animals just to throw her off.]

[She's starting to suspect something is up. How are all these adorable cards being played?]

I appreciate that. I like it when you're nice to me. It makes me feel special.

[There aren't so many bad jokes you can make with Elephants. The Fidel Castro on the other hand.]

[She sets the cards aside, batting her eyes at him.]

What was that? You think I'm special? Really?

[He sets his cards down as well and reaches for her hand.]

[She laces their fingers together.]

Because you're beautiful. And intelligent... And you have a wonderful sense of humor despite your firm resolve never to choose my cards. And you make me happy just to be alive. Among other reasons, of course.

[The kids playing Apples to Apples with them have to be a little bit annoyed. Jeez, get mushy some other time, right?]

[D'awww, that gets the biggest smile ever, and after a moment spent gazing into his eyes, Angie can't fight the urge to go climb into his lap. And the kids all roll their eyes.]

I love you too, dear. Though I don't know how we're supposed to continue our game quite like this.

[Not that he's making any moves to push her away, of course. Some of the particularly cheeky little brats are pretending to gag.]

Maybe not. Oh well, I forfeit. Divide my cards amongst the kids.

[She makes herself right at home, snuggling him happily. The kids will understand, someday.]

[He snuggles for a second and then kisses her softly on the lips, valiantly ignoring the cries of "oh brother" and "ew, cooties".]

[She smooches him happily, sighing quietly when they part.]

Mm... you planned this, didn't you?

[He's absently playing with her fingers now.]

Hm, me? No, never.

[Very quickly, he kisses her again, pulling back with a smirk that's half way into a grin.]

Though I do so hate to lose, and Billy is leading us all, if I'm not mistaken.

He's just better at this game than you are.

[She smirks back at him before resting her head on his shoulder. Even the children are questioning her sanity now, too.]

But you're sneaky, Pietro. And I'm on to you now.

And you put me at quite the disadvantage.

[That's okay. The children can return to their card game and leave the crazy people to cuddle together.]

Yes, of course. I'm sneaky, underhanded, mean. It's little wonder the family can't stand me, no?

[radiantly]

It would be unfair to just let you win, Pietro. The children would accuse me of cheating!

[She nuzzles him playfully before kissing his cheek.]

Can I confess something? That you can be sneaky, underhanded, and mean to everyone else while treating me like a princess is a bit of a turn on. Is that bad of me to think so?

I don't think so. Then again, I'm probably biased.

[He leans forward, wrapping both arms around her and nestling his head against her shoulder.]

The kids seem rather content without us. We could leave them and go someplace else, you know.

[radiantly]

Mm... We could go be sneaky together you mean.

[Innocent smile. Okay, perhaps not so innocent.]

[She can probably feel him smiling against her neck.]
