and now for something completel- OH SHIT GUINEA PIGS

So I have been alluding to 'something awesome' happening today and killing my ability to tag, and that something awesome happened at around 3pm. Today, our household adopted two little guinea pigs from a woman who'd had their pregnant mom dumped on her. They are awesome. Photos follow under the cut.

The larger of the brothers in their house. These digs are temporary, since there was a cockup with the materials to build them a bigger one. This will be rectified.

The runt brother, posing with Fran's cleavage. These animals have caused Fran much grief in their short time here, taking an unhealthy interest in her ass and crawling up her pants legs. To wee there.

Big bro, guest-starring Fran's wife's boobs.

The little guy, hanging out by my ass. They're both super friendly, but this one is sort of a drama queen and will run around and try to hide wherever.

Dual-wielding.

"FUCK YES WE WANT ALL DIS APPLE"

The big dude again, co-starring with my hairy man arm and TERRIBLE HAIRCUT.=

They need names, though the big one may very well be named Mu already.

EDIT: The big one with the white stripe is now named Mu. The little spaz needs a name!

Name one Olga da Polga and I'll love her forever from afar, as I am severely allergic to the poor things.

Dude, it's Olga da Polga. Best name a guinea pig could ask for. I vote you call one that, anyway.

Seriously. They both just went running for my legs, the runtier one just trying to burrow under my knee and I had to grab him a few times to keep him from trying to do the same someplace he had no right being. *facepalms* Pervy little bugger.

Aw, guinea pigs! I haven't had them in forever, but they're ace pets. And they make the best noises ever. So much more adorable than rat screeches.

[identity profile] answer2darkness.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
They're fantastic! I had one when I was a kid, and he was great. I'm psyched to have a pair that can interact with each other. My last one was solitary and thus needed tons of extra attention so he wouldn't whine all night. )8

[identity profile] divtastic.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
I had a couple of girls when I was little. I remember absolutely loving watching them interact before the first one passed on. Plus they're social animals, so I'm sure your new boys will be very glad to have each other! And twice the cuteness, too. :3

[personal profile] shiromadoushi 2010-09-23 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
They really do. :) They're currently being rather quiet, I think the long car ride and the new environment has them a little stressed out since they're just kinda.. sitting really still in their new home and were so skittish when we were handling them earlier. But they calm down real quick and get all still and quiet when being held and petted.

Here's hoping they don't start squeaking up a storm in the middle of the night :D

I don't really remember too much about bringing my guinea pigs home, but I know my rats were a lot like that when I brought them home. Rats are... vaguely similar? Kind of. XD Just keep handling them, make sure they're cosy, they'll be settled in no time.

Oh, they probably will. Little bastards know JUST the right time to start kicking up a fuss. You'll grow to love it. Or at least tolerate it. :P

Also: I so very much miss Bluerat, now.

Damn cats being predatory creatures. Been years already and can't get another one any time soon. /pout

[identity profile] answer2darkness.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
)8 I often miss my ratties as well. I haven't had any since we moved out of the country.

Guinea pigs are boss, though. As are hamsters.

Hay hay Sennet. Judy's mom suggested since we have a Mu to use other Greek letters. Either Nu or Tau?
