Hate to break it to you, but a choice made under false pretenses? Not a real choice. What you were doing was wrong. Leaving was the only way I could start to make up for being party to that.

What I was doing wasn't wrong. It might not be what you agree with, but it was necessary.

The way prisoners were treated in 42 was necessary? Clone Thor was necessary -- Goliath's death was necessary?

How they were treated in 42? They were taken care of! They were of no harm to anyone! Did I want to do that? No, but they weren't being treated like subhumans in there. It wasn't a life, but it was acceptable to take care of superhumans without causing any unwanted casualties.

It's not "taking care of" people to strap them into power-draining chairs or trap them in virtual reality simulations where they can't move, Tony. That's torture, pure and simple. And it terrifies me that you still don't understand that.

Yes, and for every time we haven't done that, what happened? They got out. It's better to give them a reality where they're happy, and they aren't escaping from prison and hurting more innocent civilians, isn't it? We're people with great power, and we have to realize that sometimes we can't always do what we want to, and some people never learned that. Prison isn't going to hold them. Would you rather see them get out and hurt someone?

You thought those people were happy? For real? Wow. Wow. I really wonder what goes on in your head sometimes.

And let's not forget that most of the folks in there were heroes, Tony.
