Led Zepplin, The Beatles, Deep Purple, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Slade, Black Sabbath, etc., etc. - I have a list somewhere including artists he won't admit to listen to like Elton John - are all on his list of favorites, so anything by any of them could be picked, but Perfect Strangers is a song about the end of a relationship and is just emo enough in spirit for Remus to be particularly fond of it during that stage of his life.

Depending on the people he was with as a teenager, his taste in music changed so he could fit in. He spent the latter half of the 80s and what he lived during the 90s actually figuring out what he did like. Which is that list and then some.
