There's nothing wrong with taking pride in your abilities and offering a little showmanship to those around you.

Ah. I'm afraid I never was in that predicament, myself. Though I inherited all that my father owned, as well as my ancestors. I'm, uh, not exactly known for having good taste.

The line between taking pride in my work and being a prideful ass as never been particularly easy for me to discern. It's lead to many of my decisions in life and though I'm proud of what I've become, I'm also very aware of my weaknesses. So, Zatanna, I'm afraid on this I must simply ask you to take me at my word. My modesty is something that I have to practice constantly lest I forget it altogether. I'm sorry if it makes me slightly less interesting.

I apparently have rather garish taste. These were kept for their sentimental value and because Wong found them useful.

Not at all. If anything, that you are aware of your faults and accept them makes you more interesting. There are plenty of people that never go beyond what they are to evolve into a better person. It's something to hold in high regard.
