LET'S TALK ABOUT OCS: THE POST
So guys you know how every once in awhile we do those spam threads of like... every character account we own.
Can we do that for OCs this time? Except having accounts for them is optional and talking about them and their stories are preferred.
I am on such a kick of my own lately and I want to smell the originality emanating from dis hurr comm.
If you are confused about what I'm talking about see this beauteous thing.
Alright? Is this alright?
Then let's do eet.

LIZ'S LOSERS, STACKING UP RIGHT HERE.
Jam!
The only thing that's consistent across his versions is that he can pop into your dreams and fuck with your head. His hobby is doing this often enough to eventually plant psychosises! Or driving people to suicide, turning them against people they love, etc etc. And his brother, Kaid, had the ability to puppeteer people, and would sometimes use it on Jam for the shits and giggles. Kaid taught Jam how to be an Utter Asshat, and they had a violent falling out when Jam was like 14 and he hasn't seen him since. Parents are Out Of The Picture, I think whether they're actually dead or not depends on the version.
ALSO HE'S THE BIGGEST BITCH EVER (literally, he's like 6'5" or something). All totally haughty and assholey and self righteous, right up until someone tries to touch him. Then he runs away screaming like a little girl.
I put so much work into his icons, way back when. ;~;

But for the sake of the RP he's currently in he's stuck as primarily a human with a fox tail.
Anyway. Man, I don't know if I should even talk about him at length because I would probably go on forever. But basically he's a kitsune, raised by not kitsune, in a world where kitsune are basically bad guys but hide under the guise of being awesome heroes. When he was 13 he became aware of what douchenozzles they were and decided that he, and his two best friends Okay the harpy boy and Faux the jackalope, would go out into the world and do real heroic deeds.
He's a genial, happy sort of guy, who's kind of cowardly and bad at kitsune magic, but his pluck and pals make his quest doable. If for some ungodly reason you want to read more here's his app for a game with history and such (http://zeroisafox.livejournal.com/322.html#cutid1) and a write up on his friends (http://zeroisafox.livejournal.com/1071.html#cutid1).
I want to play Faux somewhere as well but don't know whereeeee.
HI THIS IS SAM I AND DON'T HAVE MANY OCS.........
HI THIS IS VINCENT
Vincent is one of these people in suits. He is the smartass of the partnership he has with tight-ass, bun wearing, no-nonsense Cynthia, and he is flamboyant and cocky and talks with a lot of motion in his hands like some kind of Italian or Jewish wannabe. He's theatrical and dramatic both verbally and physically, and thinks he is the greatest guy ever and is so full of himself. He's the kind of guy whose mannerisms make you question his sexuality, but he's definitely interested in women and likes to play-flirt with Cynthia, who is a lesbian. He's well aware that she's a lesbian but again, he just like fucking around with her and annoying her because he can. The two of them have comical banter.
He says "m'dear" a lot, and has some kind of pretentious accent that's not really any accent except the accent of someone who thinks too much of himself.
tl;dr, he's some science fiction guy in a suit who's a pretentious, self-loving, smug asshole.

When the world first began there were two twins. Orphoros (http://oi52.tinypic.com/30wknte.jpg), the firstborn inherited the almighty power of the sun. Nocta (http://oi52.tinypic.com/6nqpoo.jpg), the second, inherited the night and served to support her older brother. She did so and did well and rejoiced when the people of the land worshipped her brother's power. But then, after a fierce winter a Heat Demon fell from the Great Sky. The heat he brought with him lay waste to the land and led to famine, drought and great unrest. Orphoros knew he must stop it and so set out on a great quest to slay the demon, leaving Nocta to watch over the people in his absence. With Nocta ruling over them, the people enjoyed the blessing of night and received its cool airs with great happiness. Soon enough, their object of worship changed from the absent Orphoros to his twin sister. Nocta basked in their praise and encouraged their worship until Orphoros' name was completely forgotten.
Many seasons passed and Orphoros returned to find that the people had forgotten him. Enraged, he turned upon his sister in a great rage and demanded that she relinquish the throne to him once again. She refused and her followers rose with her against her brother. Furious and humiliated, Orphoros struck her down and tore her body from her soul, banishing her to the sun-scorched surface of the world. Her followers were outcast as well, and in apology for their grevious error, the people erected the great underground city of Oramos.
The myth is so old people consider it to be false, but Mattias knows better. He has known since he was a child, when he first heard the myth of his home city. Ever since then he has been obsessed with the idea of enjoying a cool night and has fallen in love with the goddess that grants them. Around the age of 18, after recovering potential information on Nocta's wherabouts, he travels to the surface to find and save her. He manages to survive for three years before finally, on the brink of death, he is visited by her. At her request, he becomes both the living host for her soul, which is pretty much better than he could ever have dreamed.

My most recent is a fellow named Franklin who has the worst magical ability ever known to man: he can hear the soundtrack of life.
There are many problems with this, which boil down to:
-the music overlaps (for example, try opening one of the route themes from Pokemon in one media player and the Pokemon battle theme in another, then play them at the same time. that dissonance is the kind of thing he hears basically 24/7)
-the music never stops.
Basically he's the bitterest, most cynical, most neurotic medieval UPS man to ever exist and I love him.
STACEY HERE
The one OC I ever did make a journal for and then never played. This is a Hunter: the Vigil OC from the New World of Darkness by White Wolf. She is the amoral scientist type that helps hunt supernaturals so that she can harvest their bits and pieces FOR SCIENCE and invent new tech based off of them. The banality of evil here...if killing vampires and werewolves is really 'evil.'
I also have a slew of Harry Potter and Star Wars OCs, but that's another story.

TERPY
nameless Shonen Hero + a fantasy chick
Along came Some Dude wielding a naginata whom I think may have been some kind of modern or possibly slightly futuristic onmyouji who did battle with this demon to exorcise it. He also turned the souls of the youngest children into these colored orbs which flew off to safety?? And he could step on water or something idk.
Anyway I woke up all HEY THIS IS KIND OF COOL??? and backhanded Hanky until she gave me this account so yeah. tl;dr Terpy dreams in AAA action games and shonen manga and lmao idk if I'll ever play or write this guy but the concept seemed neat, if cliche.
My bigger OC plans are in a fantasy setting reminiscent of the Legend of Zelda and Fire Emblem series and star this (http://images.plurk.com/a7c7771d2b93115ee099950d7b0d81b6.jpg) chick (http://images.plurk.com/90849cf8c9ed6a21e70ab67755bdcfa8.jpg) here (http://images.plurk.com/70b0d822a77d99ce37553ac62e2aed7e.jpg). but lmao I cannot talk about that u////u

NOVELIST AHOY
I don't play any of my OCs; in fact, it's one of my BIG FUCKING RULES; I only play fandom characters because I want to keep my OCs for my books to keep them untained.
Which is hilarious, because one of them came from an Inu-Yasha RP OC years and years and years ago, but he's traveled so far from those origins I just don't want to tread backwards/circle around him. SO WE'LL DO INDIVIDUAL POSTS YO, for characters and their worlds/novel ideas/etc.
Sen Manynames
2000? 1999? Jesus he's been around a long time.
He's --
Well, this is him, or one of his earliest incarnations. He was a fallen monk, practiced some magic he shouldn't, was an incorrigible manwhore, etc etc.
He's changed quite a bit since then.
For one thing, I left the anime scene back in about 2005; my love affair of ten years with it was pretty much over (still is, though I occasionally go back for a fling) and I stayed pretty much a western movies and lit girl with a taste for foreign lit that didn't involve pictures as much.
Sen evolved along with me. His core traits remain that he is a rogue -- he had a miserable childhood -- and that he is still a man who has done bad things and sought redemption or contrition, depending on the situation, who had the blood of small gods in his veins.
Now, he's an ex-con man in hiding. One of the beast-blooded, under an alias, he puts his schmooze to work as the manservant of a widowed landowner/minor nobility. He's still got magic, he's still got crow's blood, and it still takes on a darker bent; puppetry and a sinister sort of bardic flavor has replaced Shintoism, and he's not quite as huge a manwhore as he used to be (but he did, in the day, love the ladies; that he has a child is a plot point that remains from the original storyline, it's just alerted with him).
The plot goes this way: mostly comfortable in his retirement, he meets a fellow con who recognizes him -- and attempts to con him into the greatest job of all: to steal a memory from the Mnemosites -- what was so important about that memory? Oh, nothing. Just that it's never been done. No one has ever robbed them.
Not even the formerly-famed Sen Manynames.
There are a few plot twists, and off he goes. Insanity follows. Treachery too. There are some angry gods involved Things go wrong. Blah blah blah. Epic fantasy + Heist fiction. Win? I hope so. It's a backburnered project at this time, though.
Gamble, The clay detective.

Keleos uth Daron is a Knight of the Crown that I played on a Dragonlance game many years ago. Female Knights of Solamnia were very much outside of the norm within the timeframe of the game so she was quite low-ranked in spite of having been a Knight for like eleven years. She once got the tar beaten out of her during a "sparring session" by a higher-ranked knight who... had some issues.
Keleos ended up traveling alone to the seat of Dragonarmy power because she got wind that the Dragonarmies were going to celebrate their leader's wedding by hunting prisoners of war through the streets, so she ransomed herself to the Green Dragon Highlord in exchange for their lives. Apparently he found this interesting or something, because she was treated pretty well for essentially being a prisoner of the Dragonarmies. In this capacity she was later taken to another Dragonarmy-occupied city where she broke a chair over the head of a Sivak draconian for reasons I no longer recall other than it seemed like she was about to get her face eaten. The Sivak proceeded to develop a stalkeriffic sort of crush on her where he couldn't quite decide if he wanted to give her jewelry or have her skin flayed off her and mounted on his wall.
So that was awesome.
Tamashiino Seishi was a Japanese-American wuxia wire-fu martial artist I played on a superhero-themed jamjar game not unlike Cape and Cowl. She was nice and friendly and generally easy to get along with, and was the idealistic sort of hero who felt an obligation to try to save everyone and always took it badly if someone got killed during any incident she was involved with, even if they were a villain. By chance she ended up hanging out with people like Lara Croft, Indiana Jones, and Sherlock Holmes, in what would later become the game's answer to the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. She started rooming with Holmes because Holmes' Victorian sensibilities were appalled that she was sleeping in homeless shelters, and then she just kind of... never left, and ended up being sort of a surrogate Watson because Holmes needed somebody conveniently at hand to make impressed faces whenever he did something awesome. They had many adventures and became good friends with Kitty Pryde and Pete Wisdom and Seishi eventually fell in love with Holmes, which was needless to say awkward as hell.
Then she and two other people sacrificed their lives in a ritual to seal the Bermuda Triangle and keep the Leviathan from getting free and eating the world.
Then she came back because it was a superhero game. (This was also the game where I ran my one and only plot: twenty-nine logs in slightly less than two weeks. It was insane.)
Rainer Harimann was a Wizened Soldier from a Changeling: the Lost game set in Vienna. He was a Rider at the Spanish Riding School and got to ride the cool white horses, and then he got kidnapped by a Goblin King and forced into a faerie cavalry for like twelve years and came back with a nasty case of paranoia and various other attitude problems mostly related to being an antisocial jerkface. He teamed up with a former Wild Hunt hound and a lead soldier to defend Vienna from the Fair Folk, and rode around the Hedge on a big black faerie horse with scales on its legs and a mouthful of fangs. The three of them, plus the horse, contributed to actually killing a True Fae, and also went on a quest into the Hedge to retrieve a magic lance which they used to kill a dragon that had gone on a rampage.

ANYWAY this is Gabrielle Cian. She was originally an HP OC who I'm re-envisioning for my books (although she's still a "wizard"). She's loves pink, and hearts, and bubbles, and glittery things, and Valentine's Day, and basically she's kind of like Mary Marvel only in blond. She also, like, a genius IQ-wise, especially when it comes to stats & math. She's also dating a badass succubus named Dominique.
Dominique has been slightly less forthcoming with a PB or she'd be up in here too.

Re: The Mirror | Jason Jones
meru
Li Li Hua and co.
She was originally sort of a Cardcaptor Sakura OC from an AU I used to play back in the day. If anyone remembers Econtra and all those kids spawn that flooded dear_mun? Yeah, she came out of that. I was disappointed I didn't get to do much with her, coming in on the tail end of it, so I've been reworking her for this story I've been hoping to write about slightly magical kids. Which is a huge Nerfing for her since she was so over-powered with elemental magic but she had like zero control.
I've been toying with what her one little special gift should be I was thinking maybe a plant affinity
like Fern Gullybut that's probably better for one of the other kids who doesn't have a power yet either.Anyway she's sheltered and stubborn. Ultimately well-meaning but that doesn't stop her from saying dumb things and getting into shouting matches. She just doesn't know when to back down.
Other's include:
A somewhat anxious girl with a fear of birds. She can read the minds of water fowl.
A studious boy who lives with his grandpa. He was kind of forced on the group because the boy needs friends. His thing is perfect pitch.
and the rest are still underdeveloped so I won't bother you with them.
El and her brother Nathan

The Cat
When human shamans and magicians first encountered the spirit world, they decided they weren't content to merely explore it. They wanted to shape it and own it. So they made pledges with animals, binding certain human concepts and symbols to a species associated with it. For every human generation, an animal of each pledged species was born who took on the mantle of that concept and had the task of walking the dreamscape and taking care of spiritual tasks associated with that idea.
The Cat was pledged to the intertwined concepts of mystery and magic. It's built a proud history out of them: checkered in some places, but nothing it would be ashamed to claim as its own.
Or at least, that's the history of the role. This Cat is only a few years old. She's still being taught by the Dog (ugh, the Dog!) how to walk through dreams and attend to her duties. She still chases her tail--but only for very important reasons, mind you! And no, she's not confused about any of it. She's an excellent Cat. How dare you imply that she might be nervous in any way?
Oh! Was that a shiny thing? Was that a piece of string?

There's Indigo Songweaver the runaway bard, Flame Ashhammer the warrior priest, Kimberly Delarose the hideous (old) World of Darkness ripoff of the Pink Power Ranger, Selena Blanc a werecat who I couldn't think of a more creative name for, Terpsichore Howldancer the werewolf, Diana Morgan the cranky violin playing ghost, Andi Brand the trollkin theater tech, Annie O'Dugan the hedge-witch musician, Dare the Divinely Empowered Street Thief, Hratha Aleslinger the dwarven warrior whose preferred weapon is a bar stool, Whisper the demon-blooded pickpocket, Alaish Keroun the wanderer, Teja Keroun the artifact hunter, Misha Keroun the archeologist, Isabel the Exalted Emissary of the Sun, Scarlet Mist the other pickpocket, X Libris the Pulp Adventuring Librarian, Chris the Detective Shapeshifter who's so evasive even I don't remember her last name, Andromeda Jones the psychic artist, and lots and lots of people I'm sure I am forgetting. And THEN there's all the NPCs I've created while GMing and if I listed them all this post would be a million pages long.

Mara Lesser
Centuries pass.
A group called the Order has scientists that are able to breed humans with the ability to sense the impending madness, and the ability to ease those people to their deaths. Those people are called Reapers. Mara is a Reaper. Very powerful, very emotionally damaged, very prone to addiction.
She tends to make very bad decisions, but she's working on that part.
