WOW WE SURE HAVE HAD A LOT OF NOT!MEMES LATELY
and it's my turn! Specifically, what does your character find attractive in others? it could be physical traits, personality traits, hobbies, that Sims-esque heart-shaped hot tub full of somebody else's blood in their back room, anything - what do they look for in a prospective partner? do they admit to looking for these things? do they event realize they look for these things? Do they look at all?

yusuke urameshi;
however, i think that if he'd never met keiko, or if for some reason he'd stayed in the demonworld, he'd have ended up with someone almost exactly like her in demonform, or someone like jin, who revels in fighting and battle as much as he does.
yusuke needs someone who pushes back at him and pushes back hard. he needs someone who can call him on his crap and smack him around if need be. the thing about keiko and jin and the various other members of team urameshi that he gets shipped with is that all these people understand him and the great love affair he has with violence and punching things.
gender isn't actually a huge thing for yusuke. keiko is his soulmate, but she would be his soulmate in any form. someday i will meta on this or something, but yes, i think it's less about the physical and more about the mental with him.
pam beesley;
i have a lot of feelings on her and roy, but i think roy persued her and pam just...let him do so, basically. she did love him, but he didn't really get her or understand her, and tended to miss the point of a lot of things she tried to say, but he was very much a safe option, so she stuck with him.
what she likes in jim is that he understands her in a way that roy never did. their senses of humor match up almost identically, and they're just on the same wavelength in most situations. pam never has to play catch up with him and try to explain herself, because he usually just understands her, and that was something that she was attracted to before she even realized it.
also, that jim halpert is easy on the eyes.
johnny storm;
what johnny looks for in a girlfriend and what he looks for in a bedmate are two pretty different things. the girls he dated before he met jess were pretty much all of the same mold. absolutely gorgeous, slightly older ladies, who weren't really as interested in him as they were in the benefits of being seen with him. and yes, this was the type of girl he looked for at that point in his life. johnny was having a grand old time, and he didn't actually want to find someone to be in a relationship with.
then jess came along. the analogy i liked to use for that is that jess was that bump in the carpet, and johnny came walking along and caught his foot and went sprawling. he got stuck on jess in a way that he hadn't on anyone before because jess was funny and kind of a badass and there was just an immediate attraction there for him. she alternately fascinates him and challenges him, and he hadn't ever really found a girl who did that for him.
also, it needs to be said that johnny's pretty fluid in terms of sexuality, or he will, when he's older, if 616!johnny is any indication of that. right now he's still a youngun, but the potential is there. he's the type to try anything at least once, just out of curiosity, so that could land him in a lot of...risque situations.
fred weasley;
hikaru sulu;
i don't think gender is a big deal. sulu's from the future, where alien species are just commonplace. if he meets someone who fits the above requirement, he's solidly in, no questions asked. he is pretty solidly pansexual in that respect, although i don't think he's had many sexual partners just yet.
also, sulu is head over heels in love with the enterprise. that's his lady; if it were possible to marry that starship, he would.

though i think scotty feels differently.
eames;
what it boils down to is, eames dun curr about gender, so long as you can hold his attention. he doesn't fuck just to fuck, and the people he singles out are people whose reactions he likes. superficially, he likes beautiful things, but the things he finds beautiful aren't always beautiful in conventional ways. what eames likes are people with flaws or tempers or what have you, and he likes to unravel them and find out what makes them tick. sex is one way of doing this, but it's not the way eames chooses often.
i think in canon he has two or three people with a semi-regular thing, and then there's every one else. those two or three people are ones he finds utterly fascinating, and i'm assuming it will probably wind up being as such in the city.
cougar;
shortest reply ever.
brian kinney;
honestly, brian is very, very superficial in who he sleeps with. he likes good looking men, end of story. there is no preference beyond "good looking" because there is literally no exclusiatory category here. as linds so helpfully states, brian will say anything, do anything and fuck anything, and he more than lives up to that reputation.
