Oh, dull, dull, dull, dull.

Research can only take a mind so far.

Oh? And what is it you do, might I ask?

Didn't say that I don't back that research up with experience.

[identity profile] sh-consulting.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Anything. But none of what you mentioned would work.

Yes, but the experience are the cases and it's the time between that the boredom fills.
hexappeal: (this is lame.)

I disagree. If you can't be made not bored by traveling to other dimensions and seeking relics and texts that exist nowhere else, with knowledge beyond comprehension that only needs to be spoken to be understood... well, that's kind of sad. If your mind can't be opened by travel, by seeing the unseen -- even if via meditation -- I kind of have to pity you.

Especially if all you have are cases.

[identity profile] sh-consulting.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you must pity most people, considering how what you mentioned is simply impossible in the universe I come from. And impossible for me to do here either, I would assume. Not all of us can travel through dimensions.

Instead I travel here, which I had hoped would be so much more but human nature is still exactly the same, and crime is the same, only no one bothers to keep it a secret. There are no puzzles, here, just characters. So forgive me if my experience of multiple dimensions only causes them to become even more dull.
hexappeal: (hurrrrr.)

There's something to do in every dimension I've ever been to.

And you're here. Honestly, if you can't find something to entertain yourself than you probably aren't as brilliant as you consider yourself to be. Even the world's smartest man can keep himself busy.

[identity profile] sh-consulting.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a difference between busyness and boredom. The smaller the mind is, the more easily entertained. Basics simply will not occupy me.

Of course there are always options but they are generally not the most socially exceptable.

I didn't suggest keeping yourself busy without being entertained.

Get in line, almost no one here is "the most socially acceptable." You might be a special snowflake where you come from, but not here. I'm not suggesting you go rob a bank -- because then I'll have to kick your ass -- but there are things to do.

I see.

Trust me when I say that grand larceny isn't usually what I turn to for entertainment.

[But thanks for giving him some more encouragement for his cocaine habit. :D]
hexappeal: (wait a minute there.)

Didn't say you did.

[HEY HEY ONLY RECREATIONAL DRUGS ARE OKAY IN HER BOOK.]

He's kind of wandered off from this conversation, but.

[Hey, at least you didn't say that he'll probably end up killing people when he's bored? Because that seems to be what most people back home in his universe think. >> ]
