[John's eyes snap open, his hands windmilling wildly as he tries to work out what on earth is going on. Sherlock is kissing him. SHERLOCK IS KISSING HIM.]

[Sherlock's lips slip into a grin.]

...Right. Well. [He clears his throat. ...and closes his eyes.]

[There's a moment, of complete silence, before Sherlock finally leans in to kiss John again. His fingers touch just barely under John's chin to tilt it up towards him.

It's... hesitant, this time. Gentle. Not at all like the rough, rushed smack he had given him before.]

[Okay. John's... not quite sure how he feels about all this, but there's something oddly vulnerable about the way Sherlock's kissing him now. Slowly, and not at all confidently, he presses his lips back against Sherlock's.]

[When he pulls back this time, it's barely any movement at all - he can still feel John's breath on his lips.

He frowns deeply, his brow furrowed.

[John opens his eyes and wets his lips anxiously.]

[He doesn't ask, or wait, this time. He just takes it - gently tugging at John's lower lip with his teeth before trying to press all the questions he could possibly have into a single kiss.

His conclusion must be faulty.

It simply isn't possible. He won't allow it to be possible.

One more kiss - one more real kiss - then he can banish the silly nonsense forever.]
