OKAY, SO ALL OF THIS IS BULLSHIT AND WHETHER OR NOT IT'S REALLY MEANT TO BE TAKEOFFABLE OR NOT IS SOMETHING WE WILL NEVER FUCKING KNOW, but it's the way I play it in game and... how I've dealt with it... when writing smut I see you all judging my ass. It makes, like, no sense that she would be totally unable to take it off or have it regrow given that she was apparently dating dudes to get information, even if it is 1915 and the social mores would have been more slightly conservative despite Winry wearing tube tops and shit!! SO THIS IS... THE DUMB SHIT I MADE UP...

Basically, the whole dress is technically a component of her body and most likely some kind of carbon compound like Greed's shield, but it's not melded to her or anything! Her gloves, on the other hand, are very much part of her body and impossible to remove, and those gloves are attached to her dress. EXHIBIT FUCKING A. So she separates her gloves from her dress by kind of cutting them off in that area where they intersect, and then she just slides the dress off as usual, where it stays, amazingly not turning into dust for some reason, until she can put it back on! Unless she gets, like, stabbed all over her body or blown up when she's not wearing it, in which case it'll just regenerate with her and she'll have two MAGICAL BULLSHIT CARBON-BASED DRESSES.

NO, OKAY, what Lust really loves, other than the super obvious dickstabbing, is completion, things coming together. She likes to win! She likes to feel better than people, not because of some internal sense of superiority although she totally does flaunt that, but because she's beaten them at their own game! She's very businesslike, and, as such, dislikes not having something to do; downtime and relaxation were fine at home, but that was because they fit into the matrix of a general plan which was going ahead no matter what. So that sort of work is her favorite pasttime, if that makes sense and isn't too vague? She enjoys plotting and scheming and networking with other villains, getting people to owe her stuff, etc., because it's a sign of things moving forward. The fact that she hasn't had much opportunity to actually do that recently is part of what makes her so super rude and on-edge! She's always more relaxed and less serious when she knows she's already accomplishing shit.

the reasons you like playing her/why you chose her to play

I basically just wanted to try LJRPing on for size in February 2009, ngl, and needed someone to play! I love FMA, and it was ongoing at the time so I had even more enthusiasm, so I thought apping from it might be interesting, but I wasn't sure what character I would actually be good at playing. And then I fucked around in a kind of awful dressingroom where I was absolutely awful! It was disgusting, but anyway the point was I made a Lust account and decided to try writing her because a.) she was a character I liked and b.) I still didn't like her as much as Izumi and Olivier my numero uno ladies so it would be less embarrassing when I fucked up. And it turned out I actually really liked playing her! So when it came time to app somewhere, and I saw that C&C seemed cool and low-maintenance, I thought about it and decided to app her, and then sent the application in minutes before the 12:01 deadline after spending like, two hours on it. And got accepted three hours later?? AT THAT POINT I WAS PRETTY MUCH FUCKING STUCK.

As for why I like playing her uhhhhhhhhhhhhh I need a new comment for this one not because it'll be too big but because I'm too lazy to think about it right now problem

I think the thing that attracted me most to the character was just the degree of complete unapologeticism she has about who she is and what she does! I don't see that as flat; she has driving goals and motivations, their origin is just utterly nonhuman and not really relateable to like... anyone. And to be honest, I love the idea that a female villain can be competent and ruthless and smoothly operatin' without some kind of humanizing mechanism to justify it. When I was first reading the manga as a babby, that really struck me, and now that I'm playing her I like to try exploring that! Plus it's just really... really fun to play a remorseless asshole EXCEPT FOR SITUATIONS WHERE SHE WOULD DEF BE SMARTER THAN ME BECAUSE I'M A DUMBASS IDK IF YOU NOTICED

There's also the fact that she's such a setting-dependent character when it comes to motivation, because all her visible reasons to be are tied to pretty much one person, one plan. THIS WAS ORIGINALLY ACTUALLY A BIG PROBLEM FOR ME once the majority of the FMA cast was gone and she realized she had nothing to safeguard for Father, and I was like "okay now what do", but since character development kind of nudged her away from that it's been much less of an issue. Trying to catalog her (extremely slow) shit towards more independent operating and motivation is actually really fun, honestly, even though it's still nervewracking because I have no idea if I'm doing it right or if this would even be realistic for the character!

And she died so early in canon. :c If I drop her ass it's like killing the character off all over again.
