Normally, Hank would think Thomas was just a total douche! He's rude, nasty, boorish, and emotionally unstable. He tried killing Amanda, and when that didn't work, he tried to kill Hank to get to her. That didn't work, either, but it doesn't do much to endear a guy.

...And the the alignment swap happened. However much Hank may dislike the guy, there wasn't anything about that he deserved in the least, and Hank feels incredibly guilty for having inflicted such an unforgivable thing. If there were a way to somehow make up for it, he'd jump at the chance, but he doesn't really know how to even approach the situation, and suspects for Thomas' sake it might be better if he just...didn't?
