Fred is by far and away the main reason why Ginny settled in the City so quickly, and wasn’t desperate to go home. For her, he’s already gone at home, and finding him again in the City was like a little miracle. It still affects her quite deeply. She gets upset every time someone mentions that none of them will remember the City once they go home, and despite feeling that the City will never be home for her, she still doesn’t want to leave it because the minute she does, she’ll have to say goodbye to Fred forever and she’s not ready for that. She is, obviously, entirely unwilling to tell him any of that because she doesn’t want to ruin things now, but she’s continually terrified he’ll get Ported out and what would she do then? But she can’t tell him that either. She wants everything to be normal with him all of the time, because it never will be again.

Should Fred ever be in danger in the City, she’ll go absolutely mad trying to save him. Because he has to live in this world, even if he couldn’t in the other.
