LATE NIGHT MEME

TELL ME WHO TO APP: THE MEME: THE MOVIE: THE MEME

=> It's like the Test Drive meme's older sibling who can't make life decisions on its own!
=> Post your name and what characters you've been thinking about apping to C&C! Give a little information about them, and the pros and cons of playing them in the game!
=> Go around to other people and give your opinion on who they should app!
=> Listen to advice or blatantly disregard it!
=> NO ONE IS LATE BECAUSE I PUT THIS UP AT 10 PM ANYWAY LIKE AN IDIOT!!

I think the plot itself was cool, but some of the stuff concerning Betty in particular was a little off, for me! Particularly the "oh let me rip off Domino's clothes and put them on" bit. Like, as a construct I liked what it was and what it did, but looking at it from her pov some moments are just like "what..."

Oh, and thanks for that!! I will definitely look into it.

Oh, the "Code Red" stuff? I didn't read that, so I'm sure you're right on that score. It wasn't until Fall of the Hulks Alpha that I allowed myself to like any redness of hulkage, because it wasn't until then that they seemed to know who the characters were going to turn out to be. I wanted Jeph Loeb to stop it and stop it a lot and blah blah fanboy kvetching.

Being an unrepentant Bruce/Betty dork, I was constantly wary of how Betty was being handled in various places, but I could always eventually talk myself into rationalizing it as 'her head's been messed with, she's been dead, and she's kinda drunk on the power.' Pak had a whole arc (the Tyrannus thing) where that metaphor was driven home.

Anyway, I'll shut up now that I've had a chance to blurt out my Hulk geekery.

I'm actually super impressed with how they've handled her, for the most part, because I think it's one of those things that could have been so horrible but actually ended up being good? So I can shrug off the worse moments and appreciate the good stuff, which is nice.

And nerdage of any sort is always appreciated.

Yes, I like where she is now for the most part, although I'm wary of where Fraction will end up taking her, but that's just because GAH FEAR ITSELF. And despite the sappy shipper buried deep in my gut. Then again, I LOVE that Betty and her dad are out and about in the rest of the Marvel Universe instead of being characters constrained to surrounding Banner. So I'm sure her presence will keep me hooked into the Defenders and such.

Yeah, I side-eye Fraction majorly, but he at least seems to really like Betty, so I hope that means he won't mess her up too badly. I like the idea of Bruce and Betty reconnecting as an inevitability, but I also love that she and Ross are stretching their legs in other directions, which I think is probably the best thing for their longevity as actual characters and not just support cast. And I admit that the Hulk title is one of my current favorites, so!

Ah. The Greg Pak run, I loved dearly, but I have to say Jason Aaron's current stuff strikes me as a big mess. Maybe it'll eventually make sense, but I'll spare you my rantiness about that whole beeswax.

I totally agree about them stretching their legs. Thunderbolt Ross is an Avenger. That pleases me.
