six months ago!! I get to ask it again and also it's one of my favorite notmemes!!

Anywho, what does your character find attractive in others? it could be physical traits, personality traits, hobbies, that Sims-esque heart-shaped hot tub full of somebody else's blood in their back room, anything - what do they look for in a prospective partner? do they admit to looking for these things? do they even realize they look for these things? Do they look at all?

lkajsdfalsk see i always read it as carol saying "yeah, she's hot" because... that is so much more in-character than her saying natasha gets on teams because she's hot...

i seriously need one of those pictures of timmy's dad that says "BENDIS" for moments like these

Yeah, it's that Carol a) has just gone on about getting the most powerful people and sort of questions whether or not Natasha can handle big fights and b) the fact that Tony feels like he needs to react by assuring Carol that she is also hot!!

Bendis wrote Carol as not particularly friendly towards Natasha in general though, when he... paid attention to character dynamics in MA which was rarely. I find he kind of sees Carol as like the "popular girl in high school, has it all" archetype sometimes. :|a

ugh i have so many issues with that scene... she makes a lot of strange comments and i just. 8|

HAHA... ha... oh god. that is like the complete opposite of how she is/how she views herself alskjfsldf but that explains a lot about how he writes her and why i really don't like it.

I can see where he gets it from, since she is very competitive, and is sort of school-president material— and she's superheroine hot, and blond, and Marvel was sort of pushing her as their First Lady or whatever for a lot of his Avengers tenure. When I say "popular girl in high school" I don't mean in an empty Mean Girls way, but yeah, in the straight-As, varsity athlete, student government sense. You see that in Alias, when Carol doesn't understand Jessica's lack of competitive drive/ambition, and that causes a falling out between them.

There's also the fact that under Bendis the New Avengers team evolved from a mostly happenstance group of mostly A-list heroes to basically "Luke Cage & family's crew of personal friends" especially after the Heroic Age Avengers relaunch
