no he is seriously torn. Mostly because he can't understand why it's so easy to crow about how much he loves Nami in so many words and yet it's hard to say it to Callie. Mostly because he's just now at age 22 discovering the difference between infatuation and real, serious, messy love. He was expecting more hearts and flowers and not all this serious stuff. He probably does love her, just not in the same way he loves Nami and that's why he's having problems with words.
He also really, sincerely, did not care about her smacking him around. Better him than someone else. He forgives her pretty much almost anything like a shamelessly whipped puppy.
