KARKAT'S FEELINGS ON DEATH are just as complicated and upsetting and terrible as ever. he still thinks all that following him around she did and taking him to do death things with her was all a way of fucking with him or some way of getting her sick kicks. and he's still struggling with all those survivor guilt and oh no i died and it sucked issues that she shook up and wouldn't let him ignore and pretend don't exist!

since he hasn't had any contact with her since their last interaction his anger and conflict and grief have all stagnated and grown very frustrated and he's not had any outlet for them. THE HELLBUS PLOT did nothing to help, as he was chased around by a bunch of his friends as zombies and nearly killed and watched vriska die and GENERALLY, THERE WAS A LOT OF FUCKING DEATH. it fucked him up. he is fucked up. he is still trying to ignore his issues but the thing with these issues is that once you dredge them up from the bottom of your psyche it is super hard to put them to rest again. he is stewing in impotent angry and hurt death feelings and blaming her for all of them.

the very worst part is he notices and is unnerved by her absence. god, it's almost like he misses her, in some perverse way.
