Headcanon: Kenzi wanted to be Zatanna when she grew up (amongst other things like a ballerina). Why? Because magic is fucking awesome!

But yeah, Kenzi is totally fangirling over Zee and really wants to get to know her better.

she grew out of it when she realized being a magic user in the dcu sucked (and ballerinas have better costumes). :')

She grew out of it when she realized magic was real. But then it turned out it totes was. Spoiler: She's been learning some magic in canon...nothing big, just small useful things. Mostly behind Trick's back because he'd flip if he knew.
