C&C 2020

Someone call for a dystopian future au? Sometime around 2014 (THIS IS NEW, GUYS, WE'RE JUST SLIDING THE SHIT HITTING THE FAN FORWARD A FEW YEARS OKAY), the government in the City decided that they'd had enough of these superhero antics. There was a nationwide crackdown on metas, requiring registration upon penalty of incarceration. The network was shut down, and many residents were scattered to the winds. There are a few that stayed in touch, however. That's where you come in.

For some of you, this might be from before your time. Not to fear! Since it's a highly flexible splinter universe, there's pretty much no such thing as canon. Retcons abound, either as allowances for contradictory canon information (except for the premise, of course), or even just if the player wants to change something around!

So, use this post as a free-for all. New characters get new projected histories, dropped characters can be said to have come back, and old characters can be reexamined or given more story. On Sunday, an open post will be put up in

capeandcowl2020 proper, so use this time to work out information and pimp this out to players who're eligible but may not see this (you can also ahead and start your own posts in that comm)! Remember, any character that has been played in main game is automatically good to go, and you are welcome to make use of the musebox whenever the mood strikes you!

Still married to Pietro, Angelica was able to become pregnant with twins through the medical intervention of some helpful imPort doctors in 2013. Everything was looking awesome and the future was bright-- until the government crackdown. In the chaos, Calvin was taken from his adoptive parents and imprisoned. Devastated, Pietro and Angie did their best to try to rescue him, but it was all in vain. She was forced to keep a low profile and leave the City or else put her unborn children at further risk. The pair settled in some nondescript suburban area outside the City, maintaining contact with their former Avengers teammates and holding out hope that Calvin would be released from prison soon.

The loss of her son was devastating for her, though she found a renewed sense of happiness following the birth of twins Barty and Mattie in early 2015. Eventually she found work in an art gallery, which she found especially fulfilling, and in 2016, she and Pietro were again proud parents, this time to a baby girl they named Catarina.

That's around the time Pietro suddenly disappeared. Angie didn't know what happened to him, she initially thought he'd been arrested or detained for using his powers. She rallied all of the imPorts she was still in contact with to help her find him. Days turned into weeks, which turned into months. Then a year passed, then two. And while Angelica never gave up hope that Pietro would come back home, life had to go on. Barty, Mattie and Catarina needed their mother, and as unsure as she was, Angie was determined to be the best mother in the world. Under the stress, her secret drinking became more and more pronounced, despite her efforts to hide it.

But in 2020 her breast cancer returned, and her prognosis was not so good. She was a thirty-four year old widow with three children, and she had just months left to live. She hasn't told anyone of her condition, afraid to frighten the children, she's been taking secret precautions to ensure that they will be cared for following her pending death. She has been seeking out Erik Lehnsherr and Black Bolt, in hopes that they would look after her children. In her final days she is surrounding herself with what is left of her family until the inevitable happens.
