[ He'd already tried it, and it didn't work. Go figure.

He stares up at the window, agitation clear in the motions while he shifts under Eddie's gaze. ]

I can't do that from here.

[enigmaestro]

Always one to woo with your fists. [It sounds like a chide but -- that moment, Eddie's smirking face vanishes from the window.

And shortly reappears, at the door, peeking through the opened barrier.]

Why are you here?

[ropedin]

[ As soon as his head leaves the window, HJ is already at the door, waiting for Eddie to open the door. Expecting it.

He's already there, waiting. ]

I thought you were supposed to be a genius.

[enigmaestro]

I was giving you the chance to back out of saying "Uugh I'm trying to get you to come back to meee". [Eddie crosses his arms, apparently pleased with his own interpretation of Hunky Justice.]

[ropedin]

[ He hisses through his teeth, a sharp breath. ]

That's not what I'm saying. [ He pushes at the door to open it, though. Trying to barge through. ]

[enigmaestro]

[Eddie, physically unprepared to bar away HJ's sheer power, stumbled back and allowed him through the threshold.]

Did you really think this would be effective?

[ropedin]

Yes.

[ He slams the door behind him, not even bothering with restraining the power of the push. It slammed, loud. ]

You let me in.

[enigmaestro]

One call to the cops, and you're back out. [Eddie pushed up a finger, right into HJ's chest. He wasn't about to be intimidated.] Try to persuade me, then. You have half a minute.

[ropedin]

[ He doesn't say anything, he doesn't have to. He knows how Eddie operates by now. It isn't physical pain to the point that there's nothing else, but enough that it's pushing close to that.

He's got a hand around his throat, in 1 second, the other gripping around his wrist, slamming him into a wall. Hard. ]

[enigmaestro]

[Eddie's eyes pop wide as he struggles a second too late, already pinned against the wall like a portrait to a museum. He sneers and squirms, his body making no major resistance against the brutal force that becomes Hooded Justice.

Too late, he thinks. Too late.

He was at HJ's mercy.]

[ropedin]

[ In HJ's opinion, it's not a bad thing to be at his mercy. It's how everything should be. He keeps the pressure on, but doesn't let it settle, splitting legs with a knee, using his weight to push him down.

Resting there. ]

[enigmaestro]

[Eddie's vain attempts to writhe free hit a pitch, a climax, his greatest effort culminating in an arched back and a gasping, open mouth.

His rebellion is short-lived. HJ controls the oxygen through his throat, and Eddie knows he has to fold.]

[ropedin]

Good.

[ His hand loosens just enough. Enough for him to breathe, but that's it. ]

[enigmaestro]

Then -- then at least -- [Eddie gasped, fully utilizing the oxygen he had once more.] At the very least, we need to establish some ground rules, HJ! You can't just storm in and strongarm me into concession, for example.

It's rude.

[ropedin]

Is it?

[ He didn't like ground rules. He preferred to be unchained. Do what he wanted. ]

Such as?

[enigmaestro]

You'll have to respect me. As a man and a politician.

[ropedin]

Respect? You?

[enigmaestro]

You do other things to me. [He said it like a threat.] Why not this?

[ropedin]

I can respect that you can take what I offer.

But as a politician?

[ He hisses it out. He does hate politicians. ]

[enigmaestro]

Is that -- I wonder -- some of what inspires your aggression towards me? [He practically purrs this, coveting the chance to hit HJ's psyche where it might hurt.]
