[ He reaches into the dark, his hand finding her hip and settling there -- to ground himself on her position, mostly. ]

[ her eyes drift to where his hand touches her hip. but she allows it, only dwelling on the gesture a moment before responding in an unreadable tone: ]

Do you not find that question especially personal?

Perhaps. But we are in an especially personal situation.

[ He doesn't move his hand, very aware that she hasn't protested to it. ]

His hand raises to cup her face, studying her expression for a brief moment before he touches their lips together.

Slowly, his fingers tighten into her hair. ]

[ she lets it happen first-- still not entirely accustomed to the feeling, or the mechanics of it. madison never kissed her in this body. she frightened him. so it's strange, making her pause before she responds.

when she kisses him back, she's careful-- almost curious-- and her hands unconsciously tighten at her sides. ]

[ Kirei has never considered himself skillful with acts such as this. Every motion with Claudia seemed forced and stiff, and yet she has welcomed it regardless. His motions are slow, steady and practiced.

He notices the tension in her, even slight as it is, and he smooths her hair with his hand, his mouth opening to her like an invitation. ]

[ truthfully, she doesn't really know how it's supposed to feel, or what should happen next, or if she likes it. acts like this-- embracing, kissing, even holding hands-- had never had much physical meaning to her. they served an emotional function. but this is different.

she relaxes without really meaning to-- ever so slightly-- when he smooths his hand over her hair. she parts her lips against his when she feels his mouth open under hers, tilting her head instinctively to deepen their kiss. ]
