[ the softer kiss gets a better response, if the way bradbury's shoulders relax is any indication. he still feels awkward as hell about it, no getting around that, but this would be awkward with anyone.

if anything, it's a relief that she doesn't seem to care, at least not in the way a human would. it's somehow less embarrassing.

he's probably getting too bold for his own good, here, but after a moment, he responds by letting the tip of his tongue run along her bottom lip -- a motion almost as controlled as her own, and then it's gone. ]

[ it makes her pause with her lips just slightly parted when she feels the brief sweep of his tongue, as if she's a little caught off guard by the sensation, leaving her uncertain for a moment before she licks her own lips, moistening them before leaning to kiss him again. it's soft still, like she's learned already from the way his posture eased before, and she lingers close for a few long moments more.

it's mimicry, maybe, or curious when she lets her tongue dip just past his lips, catching smooth teeth before she leans away, speaking quietly but steadily: ]

Guh. [ bradbury answers, intelligently, and then he scrapes his brain where it's clearly splattered all over the floor, clears his throat, and adjusts his coat lapels. ]

[ when he turns to push at the door, he doesn't know whether to be disappointed or relieved that it swings out so easily. ]

[ her eyes narrow a little in the light, adjusting as she lingers in the door way to glance around briefly before she finally steps out. pausing, she glances over her shoulder at him.

at length, a bit unreadably: ]

[ as if they hadn't just kissed their way out of a closet at all. ]

[ it takes him a bit for his brain to catch up with how that sounds. ]
