sigh nill, rose likes her so much. even though the davesprite situation is .. a tense topic, nill is still rose's sempai. she has a lot of respect for her and a lot of gratitude for the way she looks out for davesprite. she understands kanaya's anger, but - nil kept him warm and fed etc.

complicated.

jenny's feelings for kanaya are pretty complicated because on the one hand, she's attracted to her and considers her a (complicated) friend, but on the other hand, she's constantly frustrated with kanaya too. their views and their methods of dealing with problems are so completely different that it's hard for jenny to find any middle ground with kanaya, to the point that she isn't always sure what keeps them from being outright enemies-- except somewhere past the lectures and the i-told-you-sos, sometimes jenny hears something that reminds her that kanaya actually gives a shit about her.

Sherlock proves himself to parallel some of Eddie's own familiars: he's arrogant, apt, and a man entirely dependent on stimulation. It's a set of Gothamite traits in many ways, and Eddie recognizes the potency inherent to that pattern. That being said, it's interesting that Sherlock is still set on his side of the law -- and it's a cause for close observation. His more recent interest in vigilantism is definitely a cause for concern, and Eddie has that in the back of his mind. It's a bit trickier, given Sherlock's proximity to Mitchell and Bradbury -- but still, it's a potential conflict that Eddie notices.

SHE KNOWS HE'S NOT HER DAD which really just makes her feelings towards him more frustrating for her and she sort of wishes she could just fling them into the sun to burn into ashes and atoms which she would then completely unmake with her brain, but she can't. it's especially hard for her because, as powerful as she's always been, she needs her team and her team is her family, especially with midnighter and apollo compensating for her, sacrificing for her, and looking out for her. without either of them in the city, she lacks guidance and support that she isn't even really fully aware she needs.

so, having an adult look out for her or even express giving a shit about what she does with herself stirs up a lot of conflicting emotions because on the one hand, she both craves and resents father figures, and on the other, she really just doesn't want to be told what to do by anyone. regardless of that, she is aware that her feelings towards him are dangerously strong and complicated, so she copes by forcing as much distance as possible in order to firstly, prevent herself from being vulnerable because of him, and secondly, because she doesn't want to deal with his rejection of her feelings. all of that is even more complicated by the fact that he killed her in southwest phoenicia.

So based on their handful of interactions, Eridan falls into the "might be fun to hang out with, might not kill" category for Nanaja. He seems amoral enough to enjoy a good time of rampant violence. Plus, he seems to enjoy her favorite pastime of eating raw internal organs, so that's a plus! She's not overly impressed with his titles and whole "king of Atlantis" thing, but then again he didn't seem terribly impressed with her space demigod act either.

Basically, she'd find an afternoon of stirring up shit with him perfectly pleasant. She might be a little disappointed if he doesn't name his yacht the Salty Sea Fucker Mk. VI. Not enough to really care provided that she gets to see the battle yacht, though.

jenny suspects there's a lot more to shinji than he generally allows people to see-- that and the fact that she thinks he's a little bit of a coward makes it easy for her to tease and make fun of him, partially because she wants to see what he does when he's pushed and partially because she thinks he should man up against people like her. she does find his reactions to her somewhere between vaguely endearing and entertaining though, which keeps her coming back to give him a hard time. if it came down to it though, even if they aren't especially close, she would stick up for him as far as it didn't interfere with her greater agenda.

SHINJI is closer to the acquaintance level of friendship than anything that gets below the surface. They were more congenial/closer friends, she believes, the first time he was around, but so much happened in the interim that she doesn't want to bring back up or make him fully aware of—despite the similarity in disposition and history on a lot of levels, she's trying to keep Shinji at an arm's distance.

She would probably put MORE effort into pushing him back and letting him down if she knew about that whole crush thing—not even necessarily because she's dating Eridan, though that of course would be a HUGE contributing factor, but rather because her self-esteem issues (her faaaaaaaaaaaace).

So she's relatively an emotional clamshell around him, and considering their respective dispositions, they will sit together as contented clams at a presumably cancelled clam bake.

Lillian is competent and capable, and (despite his dramatic reactions indicative of otherwise) Eddie does like that she doesn't let bullshit slide. She's a stable force who is dedicated to guarding his body, and he likes both the attention and the reassurance. HOWEVER, because he went out of his way to hire her, there is an innate sense of possession afoot. He digs into her affairs and personal information because it's so easy for him to rationalize that these variables may affect her stability, and thus affect his safety. Whether or not his rationale in this respect is paranoid or accurate isn't a concern -- Lillian is his personal bodyguard, and her life is his. There are, of course, severe controlling implications engaged -- but in his own way, his heart's in the right place. Kind of. It's at least located within his chest cavity, and he is invested in Lil's welfare.

terry and julian are two of the most singularly important people left to jenny in this dimension. she would kill for them. she would do a lot of things for them, terrible things. they're her right and left hands. she identifies a lot with terry because they're both full of potential-- to be great, certainly, but to be either a great darkness or a great light. they're a little bit yin and yang too, like terry balances her out, because while his nature is dark, he struggles to be good, while she was born to be a savior, but she's cruel and a little tyrant who may or may not be losing her way a little.

she'll always remember that he stood by her in southwest phoenicia even when he didn't think she was right. his loyalty means a lot to her. she thinks of him as one of the strongest people she knows.

ON A SCALE OF MIXED FEELINGS, CONNORS'S FEELINGS TOWARDS EDDIE ARE LIKE A FULLY STOCKED BEACH BAR.

aka oh man they are mixed. Mostly because he just has absolutely idea of what Norman's relationship to Eddie is, and as such he really has no clue how to act. (obviously, just what Norman thinks wouldn't be enough to formulate Connors's opinion but he's of the opinion that it's a DAMN GOOD IDEA not to piss off the boss, especially since this Norman seems more healthy and less likely to fire him than the Norman back home). So, he's civil to Eddie, and tolerates Eddie and will gladly talk to Eddie and trust him with some information since he's fairly certain Eddie and Norman have a slightly positive relationship (because let's be honest, the whole Lizard thing is public knowledge at this point) but if his kid ever gets ported in, Eddie is right near the top of the "be careful around these people, okay?" list.

that being said, if Eddie and Norman's relationship ever goes straight down the crapper, Connors will still be nice and polite to Eddie because he finds him a bit interesting as a person/good for interesting conversation. He'll just make sure to be civil and not piss off the boss. c:

lmao jesus eddie where do we start with you

Eddie is basically That Guy in Bradbury's life, the one he dislikes but can't avoid, meaning a lot of the time their interaction leaves him just mentally handsing in the air. So far Eddie hasn't given him a reason to think he'd throw Mitch under the bus, and sometimes they actually manage to get along (for them) but under all that weird civility/office-mate camaraderie is a brimming sense of one wrong move, buddy, and I won't even think about capping your ass.

He dislikes what he perceives as Eddie having undue influence over Mitch, but he also figures that it's not any of his business. In the meantime, he weirdly likes (but won't admit to liking) arguing with Eddie about pointless shit, because by this point the bickering's fallen into something routine. We all know how Bradbury feels about routine.

Considering their conversation in his joint post with Nelson, he's now honestly intrigued that there are subjects that seem to make Eddie genuinely uncomfortable. It makes it a subject he's mentally bookmarked to return to if the opportunity ever comes up again.
