HI, THIS GOT REALLY LONG AND RAMBLY.

A former soldier who has saved his life and has a drink with him on Friday night? Rick, you're his American substitute for Bill Murray! Joking aside, Bradbury has become much more than that: John regards him as one of his closest friends in the City and, as you put it, he is a true bro. There isn't anyone else here that John can talk with on the same level or put his trust in unconditionally.

Well, he trusts most of the time. All this sounds remarkably similar to what you said BUT I HAVE SIMILAR FEELINGS ABOUT THEM, SORRY.

But yeah, he made a great first impression when he listened to him spill out his feelings re: Sherlock's suicide and that won him a lot of respect points. He needed someone to listen to him, to understand what he was going through, to just be there and it helped him more than he can convey. And not only did he come to rescue him, he even protected Sherlock from the horrors of his own psyche in the process and he'll always be grateful for him doing that, especially since he was beat up at the time.

That being said, Bradbury does make a few wrong steps that piss him off, just like every friendship. He was genuinely upset when he found out he died and may or may not have actually shed a few manly tears over it. He can't really sway him from his path, but he does trust him enough to not carelessly throw his life away again. If he was ever in a pinch and needed his help, John would come to his aid without question. It's the least he can do after everything he has done for him and Sherlock.

TL;DR, they are friends and comrades in arms when the situation calls for it! You're a pretty cool guy and John likes you, Rick. Nothing to worry about here.

Spike! John likes Spike, but he has this awful tendency of distancing himself from people with an addiction. He ostracized his sister because of her rampant alcoholism and Spike turning up on his doorstep in a drunken daze caused a few alarm bells to ring in his head. That and my activity was horrendous when we did that log, I AM SO SORRY ABOUT THAT. I need a kick up the backside for bailing like that.

He'll always gravitate towards fellow Brits, because come on, it's hard not to. One day John will feel comfortable enough to start snarking back at him. Spike isn't what John would call a close friend, but he is his friend nonetheless. And friends always take the piss out of each other, you undead git!

HELLO

When he first arrived, John had a fairly good opinion about Mitch. Politicians can be pretty dickish or uptight, but he seemed alright and easy to talk to. But after what happened in Africa and Bradbury's party, it has turned pretty sour and honestly, isn't too great at the moment! He thinks he's a massive dick head! No one insults Sherlock without incurring his wrath and there are some aspects about Mitch that are really reminiscent of Mycroft sometimes and that's a really unpleasant comparison to make considering what he did, but Mitch hasn't been doing much to convince him otherwise.

I'm not sure if any of that makes a lick of sense HAHA. TL;DR, he's wary about what he should say around Mitch from now on and still a little pissed off at him. He won't be openly rude to him since he's important to Rick, but he'll be lukewarm towards him, if not just that extra bit snarky from now on.

But yes, they should talk more despite all this.
