she does get him, because he gets her in the same way. her act, her composure, she puts so much work into, but she never feels the lie so heavily as around him. he hasn't seen her quite at her worst, but he's seen close, even if he was a bit preoccupied by being at his own worst at the time.

she wishes nothing more than that she were strong enough to fix him, to try to put him onto a path toward a happiness they both know neither of them deserves. to somehow take on all the anger and sorrow and doom and bear it on her own shoulders.

of course, she never could. she'd collapse under it and she knows it. moirallegiance is one of those quadrants that just isn't wise to carry on with a human, and the balance is all wrong anyway. she's too unstable to be the proper moirail to anyone, and so she just pushes it down, just one more thing to hide as part of her act, one more feeling she'll never pursue. it's nothing but a recursive despair spiral, and that's the best she can expect from it.
