No points for guessing, Rua loves Ruka. He loves her a lot. She's the most important person to him, bar none, etc. etc. We already know all that stuff.

Part of him is worried about her. He doesn't want to be worried about her. Half the time, he's convinced that it's just a hang-up of his own. When he first saw her again, she had an eyepatch, her hair was different, she was driving, then later he finds out she's dating some dude who lives under the sea, it was all just so different and jarring and maybe he's just looking to find something wrong when the truth is that, yeah, they were apart for a very long time and sometimes people grow different when they spend a long time apart like that!

But, he can't shake the feeling that something's really wrong and he doesn't know how to ask her or if she even would open up to him if he did ask. Not knowing how to talk to his sister is a very foreign and very unwelcome feeling for Rua and he doesn't really know how to deal with it. Convincing himself nothing is wrong and he's just making problems where there are none is, emotionally, a much easier pill to swallow.

Like, he wants to ask "dude who is this fish jackass and why does he think you're his girlfriend?" but he doesn't know how, he doesn't know what she's gonna say and he doesn't know if it's even his place to ask (that fish jackass has been here presumably for a long time! he hasn't! so where does he got off being a jerk about it?), so he keeps that and a myriad of other questions to himself until he can figure out how to bring it up or just summon up the guts to ask her point-blank.
