Calling all Canadians+French-Canadians~!

First thing's first, I will lure you into my sad American bosom with this delicious photo.


Now that I've displayed my cultural ignorance in my attempt to capture you, I may continue.

All right, now for serious! I'm Haley, the player behind this French-Canadian jerk here, Jean-Paul Beaubier. This is my plight: he's usually written by Americans, and in fact doesn't really ever get the chance to use real Québécois French beyond perhaps his curse-words and at other times it's just slightly embarrassing chunks of Parisian French (...which is surprising, since he ditched Paris and ran back to Québec to join the FLQ once in a fierce bout of Nationalism so I really can't see him.. speaking Parisian French much; fuck that noise). OKAY ANYWAY.

Is there anyone who's familiar with Québécois French and can give me a run-down of a few unique phrases and/or curse words? You'd be surprised how difficult it is to find Québécois curse words anywhere on the Internet. Or phrases even.

Also if there are any distinct (or not even distinct) cultural things you can think of from your experiences? Something that would tip someone off immediately and make them go, "Oh, this jerk's from Québec."

Anyone in Canada is going to have a much better leg-up on this than me, and I care about this character quite a bit and I'd really love to incorporate more of his Nationality into his behavior and background.

just a reminder about IC MAFIA that it'll be happening tomorrow (thursday) at 7 CST.

for those who are new to the game or haven't played it, here's the newbie guide! feel free to hit up me (inhereDITARE) or kirsten (netsrikeel2) on AIM if you have any questions or would like explaining or something.

we'll be making a main chat to set up games and whatnot. i'll be there about half an hour before things officially "start" if you guys need me.

and for the people who don't get what ic mafia means, it's basically the game mafia as a certain character. ie, you would be roleplaying while playing. (so for example, i would be playing Rose as if she was playing mafia herself. all of her responses and the way she types would be accurate to canon.)

you'll need to have an account at epicmafia to play, and you're free to make an account for the character you're roleplaying as! but for the most part, please at least have your icon as your character so it makes it easier to tell everyone apart.
