Have you read The Blue Sword as well?

The Hero and the Crown is MUCH better than the Blue Sword, in my opinion. I have read them both, though! The Hero and the Crown has been one of my favorite books of all time since middle school. I do dearly love it, and not enough people have read it.

I agree. The Blue Sword did a good job in setting up the world after the Hero and the Crown, but I never got fully into it. Those were actually the first couple of novels I read by Robin McKinley.
