They starting pretty early with TDK, though, and 2010 is rounding up. Expectation for marketing is high, given the success of the last techniques (and holy crap, they were good).
Could be a faux-fanmade, but if it's authentic, there's a lot to be said. Especially on the minor details, as that's what was so successful in the last method.
Hell, in the Gotham Times issue 2 online for TDK, Edward Nashton wrote to the editor. That is a damn delightful detail.
Honestly, I think all of us are dreading it in some fashion, but nobody more than the guys who have to make it. 'Cause all I can see is it being late 2009 and Chris Nolan sitting in a dark room with a piece of paper labeled "HOW TO TOP THE DARK KNIGHT"
And the paper is entirely blank.
Meanwhile, Warner Brothers is already beginning casting.
Sooo...a Two-face coin, doubt, 2012, something about an aquarium and a reptile, a tiger's eye, a rabbit, "willdeny/2012", green, a weird-clown-thing, and of course a green question mark...
...We need the world's greatest detective to figure this one out. .___.
I mean, it does look pretty legit for something that could possibly be viral, but there are fans out there with incredible editing/artistic skills that enjoy creating rumours to throw people out for a loop. Like that one 'viral' of Megan Fox as Wonder Woman. Not to mention the countless Harley Quinn and Riddler TDK posters I've seen. But this one looks a lot more convincing.

Will deny.

WELL THAT DIDN'T HELP.

I'm sure the viral marketing will pick up soon enough, but I'd wager that the thematic structure is another binary set
fear/courage
chaos/order
and possibly lies/truth or something invoking questioning of faith.

But that seems like an almost absurd amount of effort for a fake.

I sort of dread the final installment, to be honest, but realistically we should be seeing ads at some point...

Because I can tell you if this is authentic Riddler, it's the latter.

From a mathematical standpoint such an equation would refer to doubt exponentially increasing as a function of time if taken literally.
or that's how I'd interpret it.

the composition of the poloroid itself reminds me of an abstract artist but I can't quite place who.

Regardless if it's the true thing or a fake, it's fun to tease out.
