Ugh so I succumbed.

NORMAN. [CPed backstory: Luckily (or maybe unluckily) for Norman, he was already gone and out of power by the time shit hit the fan. Collapsing out of power by his own devices, Norman's insanity took over him and he got himself thrown into one of the superjail's asylum areas.

Straight-jacketed, sometimes manacled, Norman was probably pushed back from the absolute brink by a variety of prison-issued psychiatrists, and was easy pickings to get his chip implanted without much of a fight.

Eventually, Norman was released and in order to help enforce the registration as a soldier, not unlike when he was originally assigned to direct the Thunderbolts. Armed with their weapons and not shy about using them or his bare hands, his methods are not peaceful, but he's on the law's side -- he will shoot to kill and has, while smiling. Secretly he's awaiting his chance to murder his superior officers and replace them, working his way back up to the top by means of coup.

The Nick Fury eyepatch? Don't ask about it, or you'll get one too. :)]

FELICIA. Felicia Hardy is now living in Paris, under the assumed identity, frenchwoman Felicity Drew. Sometimes she wears a wig to protect her identity, her hair is a general give away. Temporarily she is retired from the cat burglaring/detective business, mostly do to... limited mobility. She is not an active part of the resistance, but she routinely goes undercover to trade and sell in information.

CHRONOS. Chronos of 2020 doesn't exist; he's dead, or perhaps disappeared through a temporal mishap. From 2009 Chronos traveled to the future, where he had his belt confiscated, leaving him stranded. He is spending all his time gathering parts and money to build a new one to return back to his "normal" time and dread each passing year.

I WILL DRAW MORE Bizarro and HAL upcoming eventually... also writings. /sob What is this AU guys I want Davey's story to be canon. :(

/crawls back to commission...

Maaan all the fanworks people are doing's making me wish my I put effort into the histories I wrote up

Or that my characters weren't like, unaging. Or 10 yrs older grimdark Bucky because NO ONE knows what that looks like it's a huge mystery.

I love the way you color.

Hey, grimdark Bucky got the ball rolling with writing Toro's, which lead to all my other characters. OH, though, I was wondering what happens with Gert.

Ehh, I hadn't really come up with anything for her, she probably dies, she does that a lot. Really freaky AUs aren't my strong point-- for someone who reads superhero comics I'm not very into the multiverse thing. I just did Bucky's because it was very easy, and Edward's because...yes.

[identity profile] hulkkeysmash.livejournal.com 2009-10-25 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, well, she might be better off dying, what with what's gone on with the rest of her teammates.

I still thought it was clever to rip canon.

Yeah, and she's really the type to go out in a blaze of glory fighting something exactly like this so.

When in doubt, push the "brainwashed amnesiac" button. I actually do know what happens to Loki but I got no real idea with Nat or Jess. Especially Jess.

Man, no one can beat the lackluster back story I had originally, what with my "doesn't even take up one full line of text" thing.

You can always rewrite them, if you want.

I might do fic, because I like prose and because fanart is pointless, hahaha. Because I'm really just mad at my lazy word choice, it's v. didactic and not emotionally stirring or pretty at all.

Prose is entertaining! And I know it's one of your strengths; I'd really like to read what you come up with. I'm personally having a lot of fun trying to sketch out the world build for an AU like this (as I'm probably going to spend the next two hours coming up with government agency acronyms for shit), and since I'm writing ... an actual story arc, apparently, fitting where different not-my characters are going to end up is pretty challenging.
hiddles: 𝖙𝖍𝖔𝖗 (why look at you)

[personal profile] hiddles 2009-10-25 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
It's actually not something I'd classify as a strength. Just because, I'm phenomenally slow. LIKE MOLASSES. But wow an actual story-arc with worldbuilding etc, this sounds both interesting and impressive!
olesia: (let me just look over this evidence more)

[personal profile] olesia 2009-10-25 10:11 am (UTC)(link)
WITHOUT MOLASSES THERE IS NO BROWN SUGAR so there. Even if it takes you longer to produce, what you do come up with is usually pretty entertaining to read.

I have, uh, 3/4 'chapters' done, the next three or four mapped out, then it's just a matter of dice rolling to figure out which characters to bring in -- because it's definitely the people who shape this sort of thing.

Just. lots of anxiety for getting character voices right when I have NO CLUE on most of these canons, haha...

I know some of it is just me being really harsh on myself. I write obscure fandoms, mostly, so I pretty much never get anyone to beta read for me, which in turn, has made me hyperparanoid. I'm pretty sure I'd be slooooow anyway, though.

My god, you have chapters. And I'm sure people will be thrilled just to see their characters used in someone else's fanworks.
olesia: (childhood dreams come true)

[personal profile] olesia 2009-10-25 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
I... usually skip out on getting betas because, when I was actually writing for fandoms that had fanbases, they had a tendency to just volunteer to be betas so they could get chapters sooner, and not actually edit anything. :\

aaaahhh so far I've gotten an NPC, my own character, and Snitter/Guest Appearance by a character who isn't currently in the City (but has been in the past) who likely won't become important for another thirty thousand words. Next up is Winchesters and whoever the hell is passed out in the car with them (I've never watched Supernatural, so orz), then it's Stark. And other characters who will show up.

but again, maaaaaaan it will be so easy to fuck things up.

[personal profile] hiddles 2009-10-25 10:29 am (UTC)(link)
I had, like, one beta, once, and they were entirely too complimentary. Sometimes I think I should volunteer to be a non-complimentary beta, but I know I'd get too tripped up with word choice (which is generally a matter of taste) versus story structure, and stuff like that.

I've never watched Supernatural either.
olesia: (you fools)

[personal profile] olesia 2009-10-25 10:33 am (UTC)(link)
Also that! I usually catch enough so that when people do point out things that are wrong, it's more along the lines of "oh, I think you accidentally used 'stationary' when you meant 'stationery'" than "what the fuck was going on in paragraph three, you need to be shot."

I get tripped up on word choice, too.

I will, however, be writing these characters at people who HAVE. So. sdafjklndsfuhgern anxiety

For me it's about making my prose as pretty as possible to the point where I get baroque. I get very...when I read other people's writing critically, in a proofing capacity, I just want to rearrange everyone's words around so that everything fits better in ways I cannot explain.

WELL I'm just saying some of us won't notice...
hiddles: 𝖙𝖍𝖔𝖗 (imagine that)

COLORING IS LIKE THAT

I find it has a way of sneaking up on you
hiddles: 𝖙𝖍𝖔𝖗 (Default)

[personal profile] hiddles 2009-10-25 10:22 am (UTC)(link)
My problem is that I always have "brilliant" ideas like what if I added purple to everything that then, I don't know, somehow spiral into me coloring over everything like five times.
hiddles: 𝖙𝖍𝖔𝖗 (here i'm being helpful)

[personal profile] hiddles 2009-10-25 10:34 am (UTC)(link)
See also "brilliant" ideas like what if I added purple to everything mhmmm. I usually wind up cheating with photoshop tricks anyway.
hiddles: 𝖙𝖍𝖔𝖗 (you called?)

[personal profile] hiddles 2009-10-25 10:38 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I use cheaper tricks than that. But I also use textures...
hiddles: 𝖙𝖍𝖔𝖗 (my isn't this curious)

[personal profile] hiddles 2009-10-25 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
Actually one of my favorite tricks is switching to selective color mode. It picks out a palette for you, and it's usually a pretty interesting one.
