He's proud of Danny, though it'd take him a hell of a lot of physical pain to admit it. Danny is the kind of person---the kind of Iron Fist---that he would have been had he'd been a little bit less a coward. He got too hurt during WWI and stopped letting himself feel ever since, whereas Danny just takes emotional punches to the balls and gets back up, dusting himself off. He's envious of that level of durability, even if it's borderline ignorance. Wend would be proud of how the kid's grown, so Orson's proud in his stead.

Orson can tell that he's grown since his death, and, well...he is glad that Danny's here.
