Gert isn't really mad at Nico, she's more, hurt, confused, jealous. Even though she has forgiven her for the whole Chase thing, it doesn't mean she's forgotten it, and she really died without closure in the Chase area of her life, so. (I mean, obviously she still loved him, but hopeless tragic final gestures aren't the same thing as actually dealing with your issues.) Nico's gone off and made all these new friends, and Gert died before the YA ever entered the picture, so it just...makes her confused, all these things they did without her. Confused and sad and lonely. But she doesn't know how to express that so it comes off as being all prickly and sarcastic and mean. But her self-esteem issues are deep.

She still thinks of Nico as her best friend.
