i think the lack of physical humor (beyond cotton and dale, of course) puts a lot of people off

king of the hill relies a lot on dramatic irony, character built humor, the mundane presented as the ridiculous and the ridiculous presented as the mundane for laughs

also people don't get why having a man who is so plain/so moral as a main character is actually a brilliant and hilarious choice

also some people think it's just going to be redneck humor which could not be more wrong
