(no subject)

So yous guys.

I graduated today. (Well, I walked. I still have three more finals. idk either.)

BUT THE POINT OF THIS POST ISSS. Um. My momma got me a Sony Reader for my graduation. It lets you read books on it. BA in English lol what is that. ANYWAY, she gave me a gift card, too, and I'm eager to try the thing out, so... Because I'm terrible and have forgotten how to read for entertainment or whatnot:

RECOMMEND ME SOME BOOKS, Y'ALL

I will compile a list.

PLUS THIS IS A GRAND OPPORTUNITY FOR US ALL TO LEARN ABOUT EACH OTHER VIA LITERATURE PREFERENCES. OR WHATEVER.

... I'm excited. >>

She brought me Tiramisu too goddamn I love my mother.

P.S. This is my first post to GDS. Hi.

I READ A LOT BUT MY MEMORY IS POOR ...

Also try War for the Oaks by Emma Bull; it's the grandma of urban fantasy and a great book in its own right.

URGH AND I just read an interesting book called Graceling, by Kristin Cashore. It's straight-up fantasy about people born with heterochromia and 'Graces' (superpowers in fantasy lingo pretty much).

Haha, I think you'll like it--and if you do, then check out Tam Lin by Pamela Dean; it's another old-school urban fantasy about the fairytale of the same name being re-enacted at a private college campus.

Are there are any genres you especially like? I READ EVERYTHING but I admit an obvious fondness for fantasy and fantasy-tinged work.
