[He's arching an eyebrow right back at her.]

No, but I have experience with other crazy things.

Y'know, you really shouldn't show a guy those when he's got no where to run.

[She laughs lightly, and then gives him her mischievous eyes.]

That's exactly when I want to give them.

So, you're like a vampire or whatever? A hot one?

[Troy can't get past the mental images of Dracula or Twilight. Hot lady vamps are rare.]

[She cocks her eyebrow at the term "hot," but shrugs a little as they dance.]

A vampire, yes. But my hotness is a subjective thing, I guess.

[Yeah, he's just not going to mention the hot thing anymore because that was kind of a mistake in the first place. He'll blame it on trying to concentrate on dancing.]

Oh, dude, you don't want my blood, do you? I kinda like it where it is.

[Lies. She presses her lips into a thin line, and gives him a firm look.]

I am a vegetarian. I do not drink blood--not now, not ever.

[Ffs, don't mention lips. He's already got enough things he's meant to be ignoring.]

From a dude in my position, I gotta say that's really good to hear.

[She isn't even doing anything except enjoying herself. Very much.]

[But he's doing everything. Well, everything he can not to look at legs, chest, lips and hips and whatever other areas. Fuck his hormones.]

Are vegetarian vampires good at teaching guys not to sing about weird stuff?

[She says that might be a bad idea.]

I am good at many things. [Beat.] And I was once the lead singer in a band.

[Staring at her face, staring at her faaaace.]

For real? What kinda music? I kinda did guitar and singing in a band thing I did once.

[Riiiiiight.]

All kinds. We experimented a lot.

[He's pretty sure his palms are getting sweaty and he seriously doesn't need teen embarrassment at a prom so...]

Hey, uh, you wanna get a drink or something and tell me about it?

[She feels it, and is willing to spare him the embarrassment. She nods and breaks the dance-pose, leading him away from the floor by the hand.]

[Okay, he can deal with being led around, even if he's feeling moderately childish while trailing after her.]

Do you play instruments too?

[She senses that he's put-out, too, and pulls him up next to her. Jeeze Scathach, stop creeping on his emotions.]

[Well at least her emotion creeping is keeping him happy! He needs to feel like A MAN rather than the constant sense he's still an ickle boy beneath all the male, teen bravado.]

Seriously? How do you even-- oh right, had time to learn them, right? I can like do a few shreds on the guitar and hammer out some beats on the drums, but I'm not like crazy brilliant at them or anything. Plus ukuleles, bongos, table decks and kinda a bit of keyboard.

[She'll try to make him feel manly!]

You play the ukulele? That's a rare talent.

Dude, it's seriously easy to learn basic chords to. You can pretty much play an entire song with like, three chords and a good thumb to finger strum style. I don't play it great or anything. I'm not a super musician or whatever, I just like to play around with rhythms and notes and stuff sometimes.

[He may not be a musician, but he sure can talk for hours on music, as she may be able to tell by his pointless rambling already starting up. At least they're near drinks now and he can be shut up with liquid.]

[She nods in understanding.]

There is nothing wrong with that. Sometimes, that is how musicians make their best music.

Y'think? I guess so. I'm not really any good at writing stuff though. I'm not so good with words or whatever.

[As if that wasn't clear already.]

[She laughs lightly, resting her hand on the punch table as she tilts her head at him.]
