And what a fine reputation that is.

[identity profile] doubleoohbaby.livejournal.com 2010-04-01 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not so sure about fine...

[identity profile] enigmaestro.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Admirable, perhaps? In its own special manner.

[identity profile] doubleoohbaby.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Special might be a more appropriate word altogether.

[identity profile] enigmaestro.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
You don't make it any less fascinating, you know.

'It' referring to what, exactly? My rep?

I would have thought it's interest value decreased dramatically after I showed up in person. Seems I'm better liked when not existing in human form.

Your reputation? I was referring more to your legend. And as tragic as it may be, few people are intelligent enough to appreciate truth. If they cannot comprehend your existence, well, are they even worth remarking upon?

[identity profile] doubleoohbaby.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
Legend? I'm not sure I'm a fan of that term.

[identity profile] enigmaestro.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Why not? Don't all men seek claim to immortality?

[identity profile] doubleoohbaby.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
When I die, which will no doubt be sooner rather than later, it will be with very little mention and of no surprise. Those in my line of work will never have their achievements mentioned or spoke of. We're forgotten the second they replace us. But that's death for you.

[identity profile] enigmaestro.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Perhaps for you. Not for me.

[identity profile] doubleoohbaby.livejournal.com 2010-04-02 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
I would hate to ruin your hopes of being remembered.
