WAR.

Now, I have NO idea how this plot is going to turn out or anything, but I'm curious. How would your character(s) fare in a war with the HIVE? I want to know what scenarios you envision them in, how they would fight or not fight, how they might use their powers, who they would work with. Of course, a lot of this depends on information we don't have, like how they're going to attack and what they're going to attack with, but go wild — come up with whatever situations you like and describe how you see your character(s) reacting. It's about the drama! Would they sacrifice themselves to save others? Would they fuck off to Aruba? Would they take care of people and evacuate them or heal them? Would they try to help organize?

It's just for fun, but you may find use for some of these ideas in the future!

[identity profile] hellcommander.livejournal.com 2010-05-15 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Hiruma is likely going to fuck off out of the country, but Trowa DID guilt trip him a little and used SUPER LOGIC on him. If he does get involved, he'll be using his cameras and his small bat form to collect information, then sell it to any party that has the money to buy it. Cause he's a jerk like that.

Shiro really wants to just kill as many people as possible. If that means heading over to the HIVE and smacking up some bitches, that's what he's gonna do.

Johnny.... doesn't... want to do anything.... except kill people who piss him off?

[identity profile] darkprophecies.livejournal.com 2010-05-15 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Fact of the matter is... Raven's going to be doing a lot of teleporting. Last time the HIVE hit, she tried to help out at a healing station and since her powers were so limited, she wasn't able to do much of anything to help. Teleporting, however, is another thing entirely.
She'd spend the first bit of her time evacuating civilians, then the rest would be transporting people around, or to areas where people could help them if they were injured.

She'd also take in the import children/weaker people/injured/etc and relocate them either to her place a decent distance outside of the City, or to that rather small apartment they've got set up in London.

But yeah.
She'd be transport.

But in all seriousness: Terra would get together with her "party" of close friends/comrades/people who want a magician that can spam fire/WAAAAAAAAAAAAAARP/curative stuff. And then run off to go save the children.

Ruka: Would honestly be perfectly willing to sign up relatively quickly (if she could dodge getting frozen into a block of ice in her room to be kept out of the way). While she's always been under the impression that the whole point of being in this world is to become stronger and a better hero in the first place, it's only been really recently (I think April?) that she's realized more keenly that she needs to actually work at that.

SO, if there were to be all out war, Ruka would saddle up on her laser lion bodyguard, use bubbles as shields, battering rams, and explode out muta-monsta-creature-feature-things' chests. Possibly with a bow if her aim was all that good.

DARN IT YOUR SUBJECT LINE PUT THIS SONG IN MY HEAD.

-- Oh and um. I guess Saitou's kind of obvious. He's a very experienced soldier, been in two wars and countless battles, etc. So he'd be super-prepared for this and probably do what he did when the HIVE attacked last year - kill everything in his path, and try and take down as many of the enemy as possible. He's kind of proficient with the killing thing, after all, and prefers taking on a bunch of opponents at once to get them down fast and move on to the next scenario of 10+ against 1 and all. yep.

He's not the kind to take time to save people, unless they're directly in harm's way. His way of helping is more being on the offensive line than defensive and taking care of the enemy. So, yep. Lots of swordplay, lots of blood, lots of limbs flying, and all calm, cool and collected while doing so. :>

Quatre would do exactly as he does in canon, fight for what he believes in. Of course, right now, he doesn't really know what he believes in beyond desperately wanting an end to all of the fighting and for everything to just. get better. It's likely he'll take the same mindset he had when under the influence of ZERO, ie. that total annihilation is the only way to stop the war from escalating. He won't be as ruthless, but there will be a much harder edge to how he would fight under normal circumstance.

As for who he'll fight, it'll be the enemy, ie. the people trying to take his life. He doesn't need to know anything else beyond that right now. I'm honestly not sure of anything beyond that because he's on a hair trigger right now and anything could change how he perceives, responds, etc. to whatever situation is thrown at him.

ASSUMING THERE IS WAR...which. I kinda. Hrm. No, not here.

But.

Geddoe would be the only one who would get "involved." Unless no one took him up on his offer to assist as a general/tactician, in which case his attitude is "fine, dig your own graves" and then he'd bugger off somewhere to watch.

Sanji would only fight if close friends were in danger. Otherwise, he sees no reason to just jump in for esoteric reasons. Even when they fight to stop warlords, throw down gods, and protect countries from civil wars, the Straw Hats do it for their own personal (and often selfish) reasons. So if no good reason comes up, Sanji will stay out of it.

Alastair would hijack the first plane anywhere else in the world with beaches and hot cabana boys and be GONE.

THIS JUST IN: I spel gud

Up until the actual war, Trowa will do anything he can to prepare. Convince other people to use themselves appropriately for the battlefield or hide if they should do that instead, stockpile supplies, watch everyone and everything he can on the network, start calling in minor favors from various parties, etc.

Hopefully, Quatre will have ICly finished Trowa's Gundanium suit by the time the actual war goes around; I imagine he'll be wearing that. The guns he's getting off Weasel should probably see use as well; when he's in a place where he can no longer use them, they're destroyed, or simply out of ammo, then he'd do what he always does afterward and enter the fray close-combat style. With suit and melee weapons as long as possible if he has it, or using his powers to their full extent if he doesn't/it's no longer an option.

As far as actually using the guns goes, he prefers spamming the field with bullets and explosives--basically, if he shoots long and often enough, the enemy becomes unable to get where they need to go unless they willingly sacrifice large numbers of themselves in order to break through the firing line. He is, however, also a good goddamn shot when he needs to be and can very efficiently pick off multiple oncoming erratic-movement targets in rapid succession.

Taking orders from the other Wingboys no doubt, but if more than one strong leader rises up in the City then he'll pay them some mind as well--but for the most part, he tends to just pick himself up and throw himself in all alone. This is doubly more likely if he hasn't fixed his mindset by then.

Sacrifice to save another is definitely up his alley, as is taking on ridiculous odds so someone else has less to deal with. Fucking off to x place or y hideout... not so much the end result, no matter how many times it occurs to him. Not until retreat becomes the only option available, and even then, he may refuse to do that much depending (once again) on where he is mentally. He'll likely be determined to stay standing as long as possible, even if it means his own death in the end.

Of course, if flat-out battle won't work, then he has no problems signing up with the bad guys to eat at them from the inside, which could cause problems ICly with people who see him there. Especially since that often includes going along with their methods for a while.

Right now, he'd also probably have very little problem just up and killing his enemies; that could change by then back into the promised method of asking for surrender first and then using death either as a last resort or not at all.

...In essence, unless something major happens to shift him off this path he's on right now, Trowa's going to be close to who he was in the beginning of the series again--and it won't be a pretty sight for anyone that knows him at the time.

As a member of the New Avengers, Spider-Man would be hard pressed not to be involved. He's never been a hard hitter, but his heart and perseverance is what got him a spot on the team, and his mission would be, and really always has been, to protect innocent lives as selflessly as possible. Spider-Man is the fly in the ointment, and he smartly knows his place and plays his part in the big showdowns, always willing to lend a hand.

Dante has a lot of the same motivations. He may have a devil may care attitude, but it's always in the best interest of humanity. He's selfless in a lot of the ways Spider-Man is, but the difference is that Dante can hit, and he can hit hard. He's always been unwilling to kill humans, but in the case of magically imbued metahumans I feel as though an exception could be made-- Dante, however, is a hard-hitter, an end game kind of guy, and whatever he does would involve a lot of vicious explosions and certainly a lot of style.

[identity profile] bluffing-ruffle.livejournal.com 2010-05-15 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Unless certain other plotlines go down before the actual war goes on (if it does), Edgeworth will refuse to kill anyone.

This may be interesting to deal with if the people he wishes to protect are put in so much danger that not doing so ceases to be an option. And he will do what he can within the limits he has as he sees them, fighting included. He hates having to do it, and would rather face his foes in court, but has learned in his stay here that this world just doesn't always allow such methods.

His ice powers are nowhere near as powerful as they were before, but he can still wield it fairly heftily for short-range. The Ruffling, however, may become a pretty gruesome or dangerous combined offense/defense method really quickly.

Of course, this is assuming that everything about him remains in a holding pattern. Were those somethings to go off before the HIVE attacks, I can't say he'd hold to his morals very well at all...

Shoot things.

Yelling at police people.

Shoot more things.

I wish I had more indepth things to say than that.

Maybe do something foolhardy and get injured, blood everywhere, Pete can cry tears made of pie for him.

[personal profile] natureinblood 2010-05-15 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
Remus is more complicated to answer, because he's always had this mindset that wizards DO NOT get involved in Muggle affairs and he thinks of everyone that isn't from his world as a Muggle, regardless of super powers or what have you. The last time there was a HIVE issue, he left the country, because at the time, he was conflicted over whether helping would be a good idea or not.

Right now? He considers the City as close to home as he'll get until the Porter sees fit to send him back to his own universe and he promptly forgets everything in this world beyond the vague feeling of having a dream that things... weren't perfect, but certainly different.

He mostly got over his issues that being a werewolf automatically means people will hate him, that he's dangerous (because yes, Geddoe, Josh, and BA were able to stand their own against him and that had a major impact on him). In HP, werewolves are immune to most dark magic, which puts them fairly high up in stars when it comes to just how dangerous they are. Knowing that people here have powers that CAN be affective against him (again, look it took a few times for the point to sink in) has really started to settle down his concern.

People here aren't as in danger from him as they would be in his own world and while he's still got a long way to go with some of his self-loathing issues, he's still at a point now where he can admit to himself that yes, he's in love with Miles, considers Ruka and Rua as close to his own children as he possibly can, and has made enough friends here to sort of make up for the severe number of people missing in his life.

He'll stay and fight this time to protect what he has here and if that means doing some fairly questionable things, he'll do it. He's played spy before. Doing so again wouldn't be that difficult for him.

Scathach would be right there on the front lines, even though she might feel sort of odd about it; this isn't her war, technically, but as she's come to think of the City as something of a home, she feels it is her duty to defend it.

Rikku would follow Santo and Rikki's team. But if she felt the need to do something personal, then she would definitely go for it, with or without back-up.

Gemma wouldn't know what to do, at first; this isn't her home, but it has been so welcoming to her, and that's so strange to her. She might stay in the City, and defend herself/the Institute. But she likely wouldn't go to the battle, only wait for it to come to her.

Sari will want to fight for the Autobots. Providing Sentinel doesn't allow her, she'll fight alone to the standards of Autobot behavior and beliefs that Optimus taught her. So, basically, she'll fight to end things with as little death as possible, but still prepared to die herself should it come to that.

Seras will do what she's meant to do. She'll grab her ridiculous oversized guns, and protect people. This means she'll very likely shoot down some sort of very large transport or plane of the HIVE's from a long ways off at some point. It's a classic kind of moment for her, and I won't be able to resist it.

Other than that I see her providing a lot of heavy support to her follow officers. Wish I could be more inventive, but I'm pretty tired right now.

Tony at his heart, is above all things a Survivor. He'll pretty much use every means necessary to deal with the HIVE /sob this is far too true already and he'll be up on the front lines. And making PR faces through the rest of it. He'll be getting everything he possibly can out of it, while at the same time doing what he thinks is right.

Mara will also probably be involved by virtue of being on Norman's Avengers, and she'll probably stay close to the back, but she'll be providing so much support fire it will be insane.

Ravage would... pff probably just be like "HEY SARI WHAT SHOULD I DO" because that seems like something he'd roll with. He's not a fighter anyway, so.

Mew would.... fight? Yeah, probably. DEFENSE. FOREVER DEFENSE. and transport.

Ema would try to science it up to help people if she could, I suppose. And do whatever Edgeworth told her.

Regulus would BE THERE FOR RUKA AYUP

[identity profile] so-saturnalian.livejournal.com 2010-05-15 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
ahahahahaha my characters sob

Jan here would throw himself into killing as many things as possible, as fast as possible, as gorily as possible, and as obscenely as possible. Then he would make a squadron of ghouls who could make other ghouls, raise himself a ghoul battalion, check with the Major on whether or not he wants some of Jan's ghouls, and then go kill more shit with the ghouls. Meaning cut a swathe through whatever the hell he felt like before getting ripped to shreds by someone, mainly because he's a tactical dipshit. Then he'd laugh and brag and set shit on fire. Because he's awesome like that.

Takaya would stare up sadly from Katurian's basement. :(

Garrus would be a bro and do cop shit, then whip out his guns and start killing shit FOR GREAT JUSTICE.

Grell would be the exact same as Jan, except prettier.

[identity profile] loveyourenemy.livejournal.com 2010-05-15 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Matsuka would probably... freak out for a little while. And then pull it together enough to help protect innocent bystanders, assuming someone (Keith) didn't start giving him other orders to follow.

[identity profile] broroona.livejournal.com 2010-05-15 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Danny would try to stay out of it unless they attacked the City or he was asked to help. And since both are likely to happen in my eyes, he'd probably end up evacuating/sticking to the streets and helping people. AND IF THE HIVE HAVE WAR STRATEGIES THAT TARGET THE HEALERS OR SOMETHING he'd probably get all injured and shit BUT STILL FIGHT VALIANTLY!!!! because that's how he rolls, man.

If Baroona gets paid to fight, he'll fight. In fact, he'll fight even if he doesn't get paid. Boy loves fighting. Which means he'd probably find out at least something about his powers when something that should break his weapons but doesn't happens. I can dreeeeeam.

... Pietro's actual involvement would depend entirely on how much Wanda cares. If she doesn't, he'll probably suggest running off to the first tropical country that comes to mind and letting everyone else deal. He's nice like that.

If she does make him stay -- Pietro is actually a rather skilled tactician and has done this whole war thing before, a few times, with a few different military unit-ish set ups. He's not opposed to working alone, and will if it comes to that, but he recognizes that his powers work best when there's some kind of team dynamic going on. If push comes to shove, he'd contact what's left of the Mighty Avengers and old X-Factor to try and get a team-up going and be very ticked if they told him to jump.

On the whole though, if Wanda ends up in danger somehow, that's where his priorities will be. Surprise, surprise.
