C&C2020 PLOTTING / DISCUSSIONS POST

C&C 2020

Someone call for a dystopian future au? Sometime around 2013 (THIS IS NEW, GUYS, WE'RE JUST SLIDING THE SHIT HITTING THE FAN FORWARD A FEW YEARS OKAY), the government in the City decided that they'd had enough of these superhero antics. There was a nationwide crackdown on metas, requiring registration upon penalty of incarceration. The network was shut down, and many residents were scattered to the winds. There are a few that stayed in touch, however. That's where you come in.

For some of you, this might be from before your time. Not to fear! Since it's a highly flexible splinter universe, there's pretty much no such thing as canon. Retcons abound, either as allowances for contradictory canon information (except for the premise, of course), or even just if the player wants to change something around!

So, use this post as a free-for all. New characters get new projected histories, dropped characters can be said to have come back, and old characters can be reexamined or given more story. On Sunday, an open post will be put up in [livejournal.com profile] cnc2020 proper, so use this time to work out information and pimp this out to players who're eligible but may not see this (you can also ahead and start your own posts in that comm)! Remember, any character that has been played in maingame is automatically good to go.

Raphael has found himself in the familiar -- hated, hiding and in danger. The idyllic situation found among the imPorts, able to walk around with sun on his skin and go to the beach and maybe, you know, even date or kiss a girl...

....yeah, that's all gone. It's made him bitter. Now? He's picked up some of Julian's revolutionary fever and is fighting for 'his' people, ninja style. He doesn't bother with a 'no kill' rule -- they decided he was dangerous, so he'd show them just how dangerous he could be.

He's missing an eye now; twenty-five, in his prime, Raphael's personal war against the registration of imPorts is on, and he's not looking back. Not at all.

Julian is with him on this. He's willing to kill too and will be fighting however he can. Raph can pretty much count on having an ally in him.

War: What is it good for? Having worked to establish himself as a contact point for all magic users in the city, create a thriving business for himself with potions to very select clientele (some of them very shady, and some of them totally otherworldly), Snape found himself arse-deep in trouble when the jackboots came stomping down the street. And then her vanished for a couple of years, before resurfacing. Out in space with Vector seems the most likely place - delving into dark magics is another good theory. NOBODY KNOWS!

It was only with Vector's assistance that he maintained his freedom, and, putting old grudges (mostly) aside, began to work with the underground - supplying them with medical potions...

...and working the other side of the coin and supplying revolutionaries and military groups with dangerous items, all while occasionally trading favors with other faction to keep he and his family above water. Family, you say? Andromeda and Severus, clinging to what they knew and what felt safe, married in 2015 and never looked back. They're happy, relatively speaking, for what they have, though.

Be maintains a webwork of magical and very mundane informants, grounds that need what he has, and certainly is NOT in the city any longer then he has to be at any given time.

He's also regularly pleading with an uncaring God (Read: Vector, again) to fucking do something for the imPorts that he is among and help his people out okay?

This is going nowhere, so far.

Approved by moi, obviously. And because I'm lazy, Andromeda herself has been deeply involved with the underground -- primarily apparating to main bases and providing basic medical care to revolutionaries.

Having lived through two Wizarding wars herself, this one has just served to make her ... even more jaded, and she's a lot harder than she used to be. She's toughened up where necessary, taking occlumency lessons from her husband in order to be safe from any employed-psychic-sniffer-types that are after rogue imPorts. She also provides people with protective charms in return for safe passage in a similar way Snape trades favours.
