not!meme

What does your character look like?

Because icons aren't always the most accurate, tonight's not!meme asks you to describe your character's physical appearance. Height, weight, eye and hair color, build, distinguishing marks, etc. And if they've had any physical changes since arriving in the City (i.e., new robo-arm, sporting a rad eyepatch, suddenly becoming a human) you can share that as well!

NO PROBLEMSSSS as far as I know that works. it is kind of cool that there is enough in the show to infer that actually. japan is not the greatest with acknowledging its own ethnic diversity!!!

There's been some problematic stuff with what I am pretty sure were Chinese-descent characters, but the head writer (Shin Yoshida) just has a love affair with South America. There's been a lot of focus on Peru specifically in the previous series, with other nations as well. (Though, uh, why they think it's okay to drive motorcycles on the Nazca Lines is beyond me). But overall the franchise has been really good with ethnic and race diversity without too much horrific stereotyping. (example, Yusei's foster mom back in 5D's was this badass black lady and I love her so much.)

I was just really surprised that they made a point of making Yuma's skin distinctly different from the rest of the cast (which actually has skintone variation, this never happens?), since he's the leading character.
